Falcons could not match the Pro League champions in the Fall Final's opening round.
The ESL Pro League Season 20 champions, Natus Vincere, have opened their run at BLAST Premier Fall Final with a 2-0 victory over Falcons.
The squad led by Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen had barely any time to rest after beating Eternal Fire in the aforementioned EPL's best-of-five grand final on Sunday, but didn't struggle to get through the finish line.
Falcons put up a fight on the CT side of Anubis to kick off proceedings, but crumbled on the attack and their five rounds on the defense were in vain as Natus Vincere cruised to a comfortable 13-5 with both pistol rounds to their name.
The second map, Ancient, was more of a battle, as a lot of early clutches going the way of Falcons set up a competitive bout. Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and company even won the CT half, 7-5, with a strong Álvaro "SunPayus" García on the AWP, but after the switch control went back to Natus Vincere.
A fantastic defense by Justinas "jL" Lekavicius in a 2vs4 situation after momentum had already shifted in NAVI's favor all but sealed the deal as he denied Falcons the tie at 10-9 and crept his team closer to match point.
Natus Vincere, who lifted the ESL Pro League trophy undefeated in six matches, have extended their streak to seven with this opening win. Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy's men have a spectacular 12-1 record, with the lone loss coming in the IEM Cologne best-of-five grand final against Vitality, and are currently the hottest team in Counter-Strike.
Their next chance to extend the streak will come in the Group A upper bracket final, which they will play against the winner of G2 vs. FaZe.
