Vitality extend flameZ contract through 2027

Vitality reaffirm their commitment to their current Counter-Strike team's core by signing a new three-year deal with flameZ.

Shahar "⁠flameZ⁠" Shushan and Vitality have agreed to extend the Israeli player's contract until the end of 2027, the organization announced Friday.

The 21-year-old's new contract is now likely the longest within the team. Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire, Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi and Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut's last signed deals through to 2026, while William "⁠mezii⁠" Merriman's contract length is unknown.

flameZ joined Vitality in mid-2023 on a free transfer from OG and quickly established himself as an X-factor player for Vitality. He has earned seven EVP nods for his highlight performances in that time, including four in their title runs at Gamers8, BLAST Premier Fall Final and BLAST Premier World Final in 2023 and IEM Cologne earlier this year.

The announcement of the Israeli's contract extension came just two days before the start of Vitality's campaign in the Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe RMR A, where the team will fight for one of seven spots at the Major on offer.

The Shanghai Major cycle may well be the team's last outing with the current roster. That is according to Sebastien "⁠KRL⁠" Perez, who has reported that Spinx is expected to leave Vitality in 2025 after both sides "expressed mutual interest in parting ways." The French insider was also the first to report flameZ's contract extension.

Weird ass situation for sure… Especially when probably another team wouldn’t pay his buy out and there’s no lurker available that is anywhere near spinx level, Litteraly both parties lose here it’s such a weird move

He stayed in Vitality, because theres talks that Spinx contract ends in 2025 and flameZ gets bigger role. I think thats the main reason anyway. I might be wrong tho. I think G2 had interest towards Flamez but he chose Vitality himself.

Oh, i missed it... My bad, but i thought about the CT role also, that flamez gets more responsibility possibly. I still believe theres a reason that Flamez chose Vitality. Maybe he waits another year. Also recently flameZ performance has been up there and i think this is a good choice for himself also no matter what. I think that if Flamez felt that he wants a change of views, he wouldve gone for other offers and theres surely teams that would pay up. I can be wrong obviously, not saying that. Its just what id guess

I agree I think it’s a good decision for flamez to stay in vitality but I don’t think it has anything to do with roles as he already plays most of his favorite positions on most maps

Nertz isn’t an anchor which is a problem, and hunter is much worse than spinx, also spinx buyout is much higher than hunter. So it doesn’t make sense

I'm pretty sure he's not getting along with XTQZZZ and mezii (mostly XTQZZZ probably is my guess) Spinx shined with zonic and Magisk, he was one of the best players in the world and I believe he still is, he just doesn't like the atmosphere in current Vitality and I can surely feel him. Hope he gets a good team, he deserves that

well its not like xqtz wants him to play bad. sometimes its just about dynamics. you could playfully joke to your mate and he never forgives you. its life. these guys share times +12h of the day in trips. and they have ingame issues too. there was a story of NHL team which had +20 members but didnt like that one of them liked alone museums instead "team vibing dinners". Nobody ever said that something was wrong towards them, just that they didnt like someone liked different things than them pretty much. so team vibing can go off from from different things. (cs example would be oskar for example, i dont think they ever complained about his actions per se, just that per se he is more of himself outside of the game, but he's still playing and his current mates dont see issue with him (though no doubt he's still the same ;) )

It’s not about xqtzzz wanting him to play bad, he’s just not as good a coach as both of his previous coaches, he perhaps needs more guidance than other players to play to his best extent. Or perhaps he struggles heavily with the new roles after recent team changes but it still makes no sense considering the market

Well sure he might need more guidance. I think everyone would want more guidance. But these are absolutely top5 team level players. a coach cant help it to be better, Its a level not that cant be reachable even by most top pro players with ANY help. I think this is a players responsiblity to do that. And maybe he has, and thats where there problems come from. But we dont know. Just knowing theres problem dont do fans anything. We can only guess. but from reports we can guess there are problems, and vitality dont need to deal with it, they can sign the very best thing they choose after the major. Market is irrelevant if theyre forced to do changes and sounds like they're. vitality can go for lurket/star or lurker/anchor so their options are pretty much open. But sounds like theyre done with Spinx and not for any big reason, just that team vibes are off (mostly from previous events/history), they could win the major and i bet they still replace spinx. theyre all professionals getting through this and wishing the very best afterwards.

You have to realize 2 things, First one is- spinx is still too 3 lurker this year and will probably appear on the top 20 list so he is still very very good even with a worse coach, but not as good maybe because he lacks guidance. Second thing- there is no lurker available anywhere near spinx level, and theres probably no team that will pay spinx buyout and he is contracted to vita untill 2026. Which means if this happens spinx will just sit benched for a whole year and vita would play with a worse lurker in his spot. Worse for both sides Which is why this situation is weird

ZywOo extended contract with apEX, they won't leave and ZywOo said he started with Vitality and without Vitality he is nothing (messi alike) so he won't leave unless forced to. Though the latter apEX plans to retire earlier mostly because he doesn't wanna play like karrigan, but he wants to win atleast one more Major or Katowice atleast.
