SAW stumble in sole RMR A Round 1 upset

The ESL Challenger Katowice winners got their RMR campaign off to a bad start.

SAW fell to SINNERS in a close Vertigo game

World No.14 SAW were on the receiving end of the only upset of the first round of the Europe RMR A tournament as big names like Natus Vincere, MOUZ, Vitality and FaZe won their respective best-of-one games.

Fresh off winning the title at ESL Challenger Katowice, the Portuguese side crashed back down to earth after losing to SINNERS 13-11 on Vertigo. SAW were on the back foot for most of the contest and rallied from 6-12 down on the T side before falling at the last hurdle.

Meanwhile, Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut put in a 1.91 rating as Vitality moved past GamerLegion 13-8, while Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin and Ádám "⁠torzsi⁠" Torzsás had 2.00+-rated performances in MOUZ's 13-3 thrashing of Nemiga.

Falcons were made to work hard to beat ECLOT in their first game in Shanghai, only fending off the Czech side in overtime. Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's troops have Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev to thank for the win as the Ukrainian superstar pulled off a stunning 1v2 clutch with 5HP in the penultimate round of regulation.

The match-ups for the second round are now out, and all eyes will be on the 1-0 clashes pitting FaZe against Falcons and MOUZ against Sangal. The 0-1 pool will feature an interesting CIS clash between Cloud9 and Nemiga.
