forsyy: "It's been a long journey, I'm just happy to play the RMR again"

forsyy narrowly missed out on PGL Antwerp with SINNERS, but is back two years later and looking to make a storm.

ECLOT were ranked No. 84 in the world when they beat BLEED to qualify for the European RMR, but have surprised once more on day one in Shanghai by beating GamerLegion and taking Falcons to overtime.

Qualification meant a second RMR for David "⁠forsyy⁠" Bílý personally, after he finished 9-11th with SINNERS in 2022 — just rounds away from his first Major in an overtime loss to Bad News Eagles.

Two years later, he is in the 1-1 pool after day one and forsyy admits it will be tough to beat teams like NAVI, but says "the other teams are pretty beatable." He has not given up on his dream yet.

"We are underdogs here," he continued. "We are like no-one here, we're glad to even be here even you know. But we believe in the Major."

1-1 after that comeback, tell me how that feels?

It feels amazing. It was kind of hard on T, they had all the info and we were getting wrecked. On CT we just got into the flow and it was the best feeling, winning round by round and it was just getting closer, and we managed to close it. I'm very very happy.

What did you tell yourselves when you were 11-4 down? What sparked the comeback?

I remember, Dytor just said, 'guys, let's go round by round,' and, [laughs] he is not the type of guy to say it in our team, but he was the one. And yeah, we were just winning round after round. nbqq had an insane quadra-kill in Mid or something, I was still alive and didn't see it, but I think that won us the game. When we did it, we were dominating them, we had all the entries, it was so much fun after this round. We were in the flow.

Vít "⁠nbqq⁠" Pohlot's "crazy quadra-kill that won [ECLOT] the game," according to forsyy.

You're going to enjoy watching that one back. But it was also a lot of frags from Blytz in the second half, and he was, on the cameras at least, a bit frustrated in the first half. What helped him reset?

He was frustrated but I think it was for the right reason. We played really badly on T side, and we didn't communicate or make the right decisions like we usually do. On the second half he was just insane, like always. Then it was good on CT side.

Looking back on Falcons as well, it was a very good day one for you guys, right? Overall how do you see it?

I think we should have won the Falcons game, to be honest. We lost two rounds which we shouldn't. On T side, against P250 on A, and then the s1mple 1v2 on A. I just missed him by a centimeter [laughs], I was mad at myself, but it's life.

I'm not mad about the Falcons game, actually. It was fun, and if we had won it we would have played against some tier one team like NAVI, so at the end of the day we would probably not beat them and be 1-1. Having the win now is better than losing now against a tier one team. We are very happy.

If I am right, we will play SINNERS [Editor's note: SINNERS will play ECLOT if the favorites all win, but it is not 100%]. I don't know, but that would be a very good matchup for us. We beat them a lot online, this time will be full different but if we go 2-1 it will feel very good. Let's see. Round by round.

What is it like coming into the RMR. You said yourself, you might not expect to beat a NAVI or Vitality but do you see the miracle run progressing? How did you prepare for the tournament, what's the lofty ambition?

We have the confidence to get to the Major. Of course, we are not going to beat NAVI and these teams but the other teams are pretty beatable. BO1, then BO3 at the third point. But online we were playing so many matches lately, against pretty good teams, and the teams here are kind of the same level. We can beat them, even in BO3.

We are individually very strong and we have the confidence. We are underdogs here, we are like no-one here, we're glad to even be here even you know. But we believe in the Major, of course, we are confident, and I think we have the quality to do it if we have some luck on our side.

Tell me a bit about your journey to get here with a [majority] Czech team. We've known about you for a while but it's taken a bit of time for you to get back to a LAN like this, how does it feel to be here?

It feels amazing. I played in SINNERS, we almost made the Major but then I got benched and played in Entropiq. Now I play in ECLOT, and I'm very happy to play in a Czech organization even if it's an international team. I'm very close to the people here, I get a good vibe from this team.

It's been a long journey, I'm just happy to play the RMR again and have the chance to play for the Major. To play online matches too, we are getting to some quarter-finals of some online tournaments against good teams. It makes me happy to play high-tier CS. It's not tier one, but it's very fun to play mind games against good teams. I'm just very happy to play.

You mentioned the potential SINNERS match-up, is it extra special that there's three Czechoslovakian teams here, because that surprised everyone, right? What's it like for the scene?

It's insane we have three Czechoslovakian teams here. It's because of the LANs we have in Czechoslovakia, by Playzone, and we are playing for good prize pools there. It's insane we have the opportunity, without them we wouldn't be playing here for sure, without those LANs.

Against SINNERS, we played them a lot, on LAN and online, we have a good balance. We have won against them many times now but we can also lose to them, now this would be the most important match-up of them all. I'm just looking forward to it, playing against beastik again. He's one of my favorite friends, I'm happy we're playing against them but one of us has to lose. We will see.

You said, beastik your friend of course, but is there any bad blood there after the benching? Is there any extra motivation?

No, not really. I'm just glad we have a team which is... high-percentage that we will beat them. We already did it, we have confidence against them. No bad blood, it's just a game, we will see how it goes.
