FaZe defeat fnatic 2-0 to qualify for Shanghai Major

rain topped the board in FaZe's qualifying match with a 1.54 rating.

FaZe have secured their presence at the Perfect World Shanghai Major after getting their third victory at the Europe RMR with a 2-0 win against fnatic on Anubis (13-5) and Ancient (13-8).

FaZe are now waiting for the match between Falcons vs. GamerLegion to end, as they would be through straight to the Major's Elimination stage were Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer and company to win. If not, they will have to play the fourth-place decider.

The series against fnatic was never a tight one, as FaZe dominated from the outset on the attacking side of Anubis where a 9-3 half was converted not long after, 13-5. Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard was a driving force for the team, as he has been through out the RMR, with a 1.46 rating so far at the event in China and a 1.54 in the match against fnatic

FaZe also got the jump on their Ancient pick, although fnatic held their own on the defense and went into the half all tied up, 6-6. After winning the fourth out of four pistol rounds, though, FaZe would not be stopped as they punched their ticket to the Major with little opposition, 13-8.

"We're planning a bootcamp in between [the RMR and the Major], so non-stop work before the Major," rain told Pala "⁠Pala⁠" Gilroy Sen after the match, adding that plans also depend on if they make it straight to the Elimination stage or not. The FaZe veteran then noted that the bootcamp would take place in Europe.

fnatic will be back on the server on Wednesday, when they are slated to play in the 2-2 pool, the last round of play with exception of the seventh-place decider.
