GamerLegion eliminate SINNERS to seal seventh-place decider spot

SINNERS didn't have the quality across the series to seriously threaten a youthful GamerLegion side.

GamerLegion have given themselves a final chance to fight for a Shanghai Major berth thanks to a 2-1 win over SINNERS, taking Mirage (13-8) and Ancient (13-9) either side of a loss on Dust2 (4-13).

BetBoom await GamerLegion in the qualification bout, which will take place later today.

Considering the field in this RMR, GamerLegion came into the event as a side considered capable of taking one of the Major spots on offer thanks to their squad filled with young firepower. However, they opened their account with two BO1 losses, one at the hands of ECLOT, and were staring in the face of elimination.

They showed immense resilience to deal with the pressure and battle through series against UNiTY and Falcons to keep their Major dreams alive, and they further displayed that resilience in this series. They bounced back from a battering on Dust2 to start Ancient in red-hot fashion, and fended off a comeback from SINNERS towards the end of Ancient with the pressure mounting.

SINNERS were simply too passive on their defensive half on Ancient, only starting to battle for Mid control when the half was getting out of control, and this allowed GamerLegion to pivot into A executes, which netted the European combine an insurmountable lead.

A fantastic series from Michal "⁠majky⁠" Švancara gave SINNERS something to work with and got them to three maps, but some of their more experienced players, in particular Tomáš "⁠oskar⁠" Šťastný, never really got going and hurt their chances of dealing with GamerLegion's firepower. As such, GamerLegion were relatively comfortable victors in the end.
