Astralis down to 0-1 pool as RMR round 1 reaches end

The Danish giants will now look to bounce back in a domestic match-up.

Astralis are off to a bad start in the EU RMR B tournament following a 13-9 defeat to 9 Pandas on Nuke. The loss puts the Danish team on a collision course with Sashi in the 0-1 pool.

9 Pandas' victory was a little more convincing than the scoreline might suggest. Astralis, who are attending the event without Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz, got a three-round cushion on the CT side off the back of a pistol round win, but their upper site setup was frequently abused by the Russian side in the first half.

The Danish team then looked off the pace and bereft of ideas on the T side, where they often had to rely on individual plays by Jakob "⁠jabbi⁠" Nygaard.

Beyond this game and Virtus.pro's loss to Passion UA, the first round was fairly predictable. Spirit dismantled B8, while G2, HEROIC and Eternal Fire won their respective games convincingly.

The same cannot be said for 3DMAX, who were made to work hard to beat No.86 TSM in a close Vertigo game that went the distance.
