T.c: "Still feeling pretty good"
Complexity's coach is hopeful despite his team being sent to the elimination zone on day one of the Shanghai Major.

After two matches against some of the biggest underdogs in the Opening Stage of the Shanghai Major, Complexity are 0-2 in the Swiss group.
Their bet on Anubis backfired twice as they suffered losses on the map to FlyQuest, where they got just one round on the CT side, and Passion UA, where instead a lacking T side proved costly.
Despite the poor start, Complexity's coach, Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen, sees a light at the end of the tunnel as they go from best-of-ones to series play. "It's still the same goal, we need to win three games to qualify, so nothing's really changed for us," he said. "We just need to show our A-game on stage, and I think we can still do it."
The coach also addressed the issues Complexity faced in the two Anubis affairs. "We weren't doing little things correctly to win these games, to convert especially advantageous situations," he explained. "We spoke about that and had a better CT side, but we lost a couple of crucial rounds here against Passion UA."
"You're not going to get any free games here, so it's on us to step it up."

A couple of Anubis games and a rough showing so far at the Major. Tell me what's happened.
We had a bit of a slow start in the first game. We weren't doing little things correctly, the little comms that we need to have to win these games, to convert especially advantageous situations. Moving around the map correctly and supporting each other better just wasn't there, especially for the first few rounds.
We spoke about that and had a better CT side now, but we lost a couple of crucial rounds here against Passion UA. I think both teams played really good CS, you're not going to get any free games here, so it's on us to step it up.
It was against a couple of underdogs that people expected to do worse than this - do you feel you got ahead of yourselves, or do you think that wasn't a factor?
I don't think we got ahead of ourselves. Like I said, all of the games here are going to be tough no matter who you play. We had a really good bootcamp heading into this and this week of practice again has gone really well, so it's just up to us to translate the practice into the performance on stage now.
It's a long road back if you want to make it to the second stage. What's the talk going to look like after this?
It's still the same goal, we need to win three games to qualify, so nothing's really changed for us. It's just that elimination is on the line now, so we get the floppy buff at least, it gets to show up in the elimination games.
But, to be honest, there's not much to read into at the moment, we played Anubis twice, we lost Anubis twice, it's best-of-ones, anything can happen and all the teams we're playing here are going to be tough. It's up to us to show up tomorrow. We just need to show our A-game on stage tomorrow, and I think we can still do it.
Does it tank your confidence on Anubis? It's a map you would occasionally even pick into the big teams, do you feel that you were overconfident on it?
Not necessarily overconfident on it, maybe just gameplan-wise we ran some rounds that we shouldn't have in crucial moments. It also doesn't help the advantageous situations that we lost. It was on our T side here, maybe we didn't start off with the best game plan, we had a lot of deaths that we couldn't even trade at all, we were very spread out across the map.
It's just a matter of us going back and looking at how we want to approach these games on Anubis. It's always up to the guys whether they feel like their confidence has tanked on the map or whether we can keep playing it. It didn't feel like that after the FlyQuest game, so we'll just obviously have to speak about it and see what the vibe is at the moment. Still feeling pretty good, if we come and show up these next few days, it's still the same situation for us. The best-of-threes start now, so hopefully we can actually show up.
