Natus Vincere are one loss away from elimination in the Perfect World Shanghai Major after a horrid defeat at the hands of Spirit in the 1-1 pool.
Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's team suffered its first defeat yesterday, when a 0-9 start and a lethal 2v1 mistake up against an Felipe "insani" Yuji-powered MIBR cost them, and their woes continued into day 2 with their individuals missing.
In their lowest-rated maps ever, Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov and Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy combined for three kills in the half as Spirit stomped them 10-2 on the Terrorist side of Mirage, and the Russian side rallied to a quick closing after sides switched.
Natus Vincere now need two consecutive wins to qualify for the playoffs as they head into series play, where Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy said things "should be better" on the previous day. Meanwhile, Spirit have two chances to make it to the bracket stage after moving on to the 2-1 pool.

Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's team dominated on the Terrorist side of Inferno after preventing the Brazilian side any momentum off of their pistol round victory. FURIA tied things up thanks to the second pistol round win and entries from Felipe "skullz" Medeiros, but Liquid retook momentum once they got the economy under control, with aggressive plays from Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis on B helping them lock down the victory.
