The French AWPer was benched in favor of nawwk in September.

Aurélien "⁠afro⁠" Drapier will become a free agent "at the end of this month" after parting ways with fnatic.

The Frenchman was benched in September as the organization swooped in for Tim "⁠nawwk⁠" Jonasson in a bid to improve the squad's firepower ahead of the RMR that afro helped fnatic qualify for.

The decision was made so late afro has his sticker inside the game instead of nawwk, who had to be registered as a substitute, despite never playing a map at a Major.

As an aggressive sniper in LDLC, afro earned praise from Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz but he became increasingly more supportive as time went on in fnatic and his output dwindled.

"You have been a great teammate," Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer wrote on X when afro was benched. "It can only be an understatement that you did everything you could to make the group work. I will really miss the energy you showed up with everyday."

For his part, afro said that he "knows his value in a group that believes me" and finding that group will now be easier as a free agent in the new year.

Naawk proved he can perform under an actual IGL in Apeks. So I think he could be great again if bodyy is replaced with someone that can actually call

Drop the flag bias. Apeks was a top 10 team for quite a while when nawwk played there. Fnatic is the highest level Afro has even touched and he was shit. Afro is a t3 god, but can’t play top tier cs, while Nawwk has a proven record

Apeks were in the top 10 for a bit, but only due to their 1 (one) fluke Major run. They were never actually competitive against real teams aside from that... Check the flag more closely please/

Nawwk was also in NIP while they still played well. Ranked #2 as highest. Afro is a low tier farmer that has never succeed in top tier

Cool nawwk was okay 50 years ago in a different game. Good for him. He's still a barely average T3 awper in CS2 Honestly seems like you're trying really hard to gaslight yourself to think he was somehow good. No he wasn't. Even in NIP, he was extremely mediocre, as he's always been.

No, I'm saying the last time he was serviceable was in NIP. In Apeks he was below average for the skill level he was playing at. And since CS2 came out it got even worse. He was absolutely horrendous in Apeks and BLEED under better IGLs than afro has been playing with.

afro had over a year to play well, nawwk has had a little less than 3 months. and 2 of the 3 tournaments nawwk played, he was playing afro's positions, cause they didnt have time to strat (source: krimz) AND AFRO WAS 1.02 IN 2024, he really wasnt good, fnatic were gonna fail at the major either way.
