Cloud9 bid farewell to ICY

The Kazakh AWPer leaves the North American organization after just five months.

ICY was recruited by Cloud9 in July

Cloud9 have parted ways with AWPer Kaisar "⁠ICY⁠" Faiznurov, the North American organization announced on Sunday. The news comes amid rumors that the team is disbanding and its players are being picked up by other organizations.

ICY spent just five months on Cloud9 following his transfer from AMKAL in July. He made his final appearance with the team at the Shanghai Major, where he averaged a 1.30 rating as Cloud9 crashed out of the Opening Stage with a 1-3 record.

According to CIS insider Aleksei "⁠OverDrive⁠" Birukov, ICY is on the brink of joining Virtus.pro, who are still after an AWPer to replace Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali. He also claimed that Cloud9's roster is disbanding.

Earlier on Sunday, HLTV reported that Nikita "⁠HeavyGod⁠" Martynenko could be on his way out of Cloud9 to join G2, where he would replace the Falcons-bound Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač.

If any of them go from Wildcard, or if C9 manages to poach a core at least. Wildcard has good position for the start of 2025, they will be invited to tournaments.

maybe they did some calculations and found out that with Valve's new rules about ranking and invites they won't have many opportunities, so it's easier to just disband/sell players

If Jame will IGL, boom would be the logical choice. But +n0rber7 along with interz seems a bad choice. There are plenty of better option on Tier 2 CIS CS. s1ren, magnojez, patsi... Or just get perfecto back to active duty.

Man, I’ve been a C9 fan for sooooo long (ignore my Tyloo flair) in every esport I watch but I think I’m done bro. In the past few years, Jack has done nothing but destroy the teams in every game (CS, Val, LoL blah blah). It’s simply very disappointing every time I see something about C9. I was very excited about this roster but the guy kept groove and now he’s getting rid of ICY and HeavyGod. Like wtf has groove done? We constantly get -X player but we still have groove sitting there and they always end up with shit results.
