br0 replaces Brehze in NRG

The North American team has expanded its horizons by signing a Danish player.

br0 will continue his career in North America with NRG

NRG has announced the signing of Alexander "br0" Bro, who has been on the sidelines since September 2024 when he was controversially benched in Astralis to make place for Casper "cadiaN" Møller ahead of the BLAST Fall Final.

Astralis got cadiaN in for the Fall Final on an emergency sub. Was it against the rules?

br0 returned to the Danish team's starting five when Nicolai "device" Reedtz was put on the injured list ahead of the PGL Shanghai Major, but did not continue after the tournament in China and became a free agent heading into 2025.

He is now becoming the first non-North American player in the NRG squad led by Nick "nitr0" Cannella.

The 22-year-old takes the place of Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, HLTV has confirmed, who was a part of the NRG squad in 2017-2019 that reached the StarLadder Major Berlin's semi-finals and was transferred to Evil Geniuses.

The 26-year-old returned to NRG in November 2023, but the team has struggled since then, finishing last in the PGL Copenhagen Major RMR and falling even earlier in the Shanghai Major´s cycle, losing in the RMR´s closed qualifier.

NRG is now:

United States Nick "nitr0" Cannella
United States Josh "oSee" Ohm
Canada Jadan "HexT" Postma
United States Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott
Denmark Alexander "br0" Bro

Canada Damian "daps" Steele (coach)

i mean, if you are a player with the history of brehze I'd hope youd be doing a little bit more than "pretty well" vs ECL teams

LMAOO thats less than if he worked a job in denmark with the average salary..... yeah so great, wasted his best years in which he couldve been studying at a university and living life, instead he spent them playing a computer game, making less money than working... now his carrer is ending and NO ONE will remember him in a couple of months/years. he will have to find a another living with no degree and no job experience, we will probably see him working in a supermarket. You guys here are so delulu.

No but normal people with a graduation have a lifelong stable income because they have a skill. A CS career is max 8-10 years. It's two completely different things

Some of you say the first thing that pops into your head not to admit being wrong. With Monte, they reached top 6 in HLTV. How is that "dysfunctional mess"? He left because Astralis signed him, not because Monte was trash. And he had a honeymoon face with Astralis improving the previous iteration. He was only replaced when Device IGL run out of steam and they required 1. Not good but far from a "disfunctional mess". And he played great at shangai RMR up until the elimination match. br0 is a pretty decent support player.

Im not saying br0 is bad, Im saying he didn't have much of a career for us to say "His career is over" I trust STYKO when he says yeah Monte when he joined was fuckin dysfunctional and I believe thats why sdy left the team, I mean I would've hated playing with fckin kRaSnaL who's a serial yapper, good entry and anchor but a big yapper and a crazy mofo who will peek and die cause he felt like it. As for Astralis, 2 tournaments and everything after that was a mess there was NOTHING in Astralis. br0 never got a real chance, he didn't but I think he should've
2025-01-13 20:02

br0 didn't play with styko so why are you bringing him up? lmao. Styko's Monte was mostly Polish Monte with Dycha and Hades. He didn't play with br0/sdy and barely played with Woro when they were thinking about disbanding (And Woro was allegedly signed by another team). But that Monte that reached top 6 wasn't dysfunctional at all, otherwise they wouldn't have been top 6 with that roster. Again, you can say "I'm wrong" it doesn't hurt. Or just stay quiet when you fucked up.

Oh bro STYKO played in the Woro2k and hadji Monte and he was talking about that team being disfunctional so obviously if the core he was playing with was disfunctional when he joined imagine what was going on when br0 was still onboard? Although the PL Flag Monte had its own host of issues most of them being hades related. Once more never have I said br0 is a bad player its that he never got a real shot and them getting to 6th place with that same disfunctional core is a testament to how weak everyone else was and as soon as everyone got used to CS2, look Monte fell out of relevancy. If you look thourghly you'd also be saying that br0 never got a fair shot at a true tier1 team cause I would not count Astralis as that a real tier1 team cause they missed not just this Major in Shanghai they missed on the CPH one too, if Astralis was not a prestigous brand in CS then they'd have to play freakin CCT

Yeah, you're just dumb lmao. Sdy left because his contract ended and he was playing great. He felt he would find a "top team" (His words). That's it. He didn't leave because Monte was disfuntional or any moronic reasoning you're putting in your head. Br0 left because he was signed by Astralis. Both of them happened in February. Styko joined in May There's no way you can be as stupid as to think you can transfer x situation to another different scenario just because both were under the same logo. And even so. As much as you want to push it, Styko's words were for the team he played half a year with, not for the one he stayed with 1 month with another stand-in and had 1 player already planning to leave to another one. Just admit you're wrong and you were speaking out of your ass because you didn't remember in what Monte br0 played. The term "dysfunctional" is used to state something doesn't work. If a team overperforms for a significant period (in Monte's case long) what people expected from them, there's no way or shape you can call them "dysfunctional".

It does not count, period being that Monte with Woro and kRaSnaL was worse than being in NIP. And if your time on NIP doesn't count then his time on Monte can't be counted as a fair shot either. Period, end of discussion

"S1mple in Navi stint was in a dysfunctional mess because after war started, Russians had to leave Ukrainian org and he didn't adapt to the international team. What? Navi won the major and was the best team for over a year? Doesn't count" That's how stupid you've sounded all this time. And at this point, you're well aware of it. br0 in Monte was never in a dysfunctional mess. And results prove it. Monte's problems started after his stint and it's normal because they were never a big org that could keep that success after losing pieces. That's factual, not your imagination.

Did not see this move coming. Big W for NRG, wow. That roster doesn't look terrible at all on paper.

Nitr0 and oSee are decent players. Br0 has his moments. Could be a decent team

Nice move, sad to see Brehze fall down from a top20 player to this

likely getting prepped for more international events now that they qualified for pro league. Although getting rid of your highest rated player confuses me. Perhaps he was unwilling to travel.

The first thing I saw about this was a tweet from nrg that was again bye to their old player to make the room for br0, I said nahhhh it's gotta be a different br0, no shot it's THE br0. I'm so confused , this was outta left field lol

Fantastic signing. They needed more supportive elements and maybe he’ll bring some EU thinking into this squad

Not a good fit. Br0 is a talented Support/X factor. Playing him like star is only going to detrimental to him and the team.

so their roles are Nitro / IGL BRO / support osee / awp hext / Entry Jeorge / Star rifler Imo they need more firepower to achieve anything but it is definitely an upgrade. Since CS2 brehze wasnt in his normal standards

Christ... Brehze gone from being one of the best players in the world to being replaced by br0.. His dropoff needs to be studied.

wth?? I mean, i wouldn't mind NRG being the next big NA roster but br0 is getting shafted ... I guess earn money while you can and try to get NRG to be relevant or try to do well and get back to a Tier 1 team

Dont tell me they dont have one promising NA talent to try out for few bucks in hope of improvement? br0 is average at best, yes... vs tier 4 he might do well, but overall it is waste of spot for someone from NA.
