Unconvincing G2 and Stage 2 picks headline BLAST Bounty day four

BIG picked G2 in Stage 2 following their struggles against B8.

m0NESY needed to be G2's savior once again

The BLAST Bounty Stage 1 action continued on day four with paiN, FURIA, BetBoom, and G2 securing victories and their spots in Stage 2 before the live draft set the Stage 2 matchups.

The day began with paiN taking home a hard-fought victory against GamerLegion, who were making their debut with Fredrik "REZ" Sterner and Oldřich "PR" Nový.

"I need to build REZ's confidence. He's taken a few hits, he's a bit too supportive for my liking, not embracing the star mentality. I think if he focuses on himself, I can get the best out of him," Ashley "ash" Battye said about REZ's debut against the Brazilians.

REZ put up a respectable 1.02 rating in his debut, but was outshone by Henrich "sl3nd" Hevesi (1.15) and other new addition PR (1.16).

paiN's new addition, David "dav1deuS" Tapia Maldonado, had a much better debut, however, as he topped the server with a 1.24 rating and had a crisp quad kill on the Inferno pistol round.

In the second game of the day, FURIA faced off against Nemiga, with the Brazilians recovering from a lackluster Mirage T side to take the match 2-1.

Next up on the agenda was MOUZ vs. BetBoom, where the Russian squad claimed the $30,000 bounty and condemned Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek's troops to a disappointing start to the year.

G2 vs. B8 was the final match of the day, and the European combine struggled early on by dropping the first map 13-16.

They recovered by winning Inferno (13-6) and Dust2 (13-11), but they were far from convincing during the match, a sentiment shared by Mohan "launders" Govindasamy during the cast and in a post on X.

One of the rare positives from the performance for G2 will be Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko's performance, who played a great series with a 1.20 rating, with Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa also taking over Nikola "NiKo" Kovač's roles well (1.23).

After G2's victory, the show continued with the Stage 2 live draft. FURIA began the draft by picking BetBoom, with Eternal Fire following that up by choosing Falcons.

BIG then went for G2 before HEROIC picked Guy "NertZ" Iluz's Liquid, with the rest of the matchups looking as follows:

This will happen if there will be at least no major semi finals and tier1 trophy in this half of the year, give time and then we can say.

Jesus christ just give us hooxi back man, at least they were winning kato and cologne, not mickey mouse blasts and freaking 100k iem dallas. Sad that niko's time in G2 always stuck with garbage IGLs except hooxi who had some decent mid rounds

Very unintelligent statement. noobxa was the IGL in G2 before NiKo joined, how the fuckk did NiKo recruit noobxa when he himself wasn't even in the team? Bro was in Faze back then. And the 2nd time noobxa joined he wasn't the IGL. 0_CS_KNOWLEDGE should be your username

G2 needs a proper IGL and a Star Anchor for next season, otherwise theyre cooked

Great, another duo that will get scapegoated the moment they don't win a grand slam within their first 4 tourneys.

yeah flag, still right tho. G2 fans could get prime glaive pulled in from 2018 with a working time machine and they would still cry. All the crying about getting an anchor, G2 gets an actual decent anchor, they still cry.

Nah you didnt read my comment properly. I said next season, not this season. Currently their roster is decent, but monesy will most likely leave in summer and therefore theyll lose lots of firepower. As there is basically no decent awpers available, this will be catastrophic with a "strat" caller like snax.

G2 has been always focused to play executes called "NiKo, m0nesy, malbs, heavygod, go kill" so I am not surprised that AleksiB, Nexa, Hooxi, Snax were disliked. Without Star players G2 won't be G2.

why were the analysts on the desk surprised when VP picked Vitality. They beat Vita in Blast Spring and EWC

why would you even bring that up? those were completely different rosters on both sides

because VP is a team that takes preparation seriously and they have the same coach and core. Without Jame and his style it would be more difficult, but they still can see Vita as a more comfortable opponent than Navi, against whom they barely won a few rounds.

I think losing Niko made them lost some voices mid round and that's why G2 is horrible right now, hope the best for G2, I am watching Falcons now

@LAUNDERS bro stfu, hltv.org/matches/2378219/g2-vs-b8-blast-.. they literally win most of their rounds on t side. On ancient, they literally choked so much, HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU RUNNING INTO A B SITE AND NOT CHECK PILLAR/NINJA? WHERE WAS THE SHORT SMOKE?

It's the same shit every time from g2's t sides. They have a strong start from pistol but once enemy settles with ct economy g2's t sides fail to adapt and have to reply on individial heroics. I only watched ancient because it was 4am and i barely remember anything so I might be wrong.

seems launders is not expert he is only trying to be an "expert" and people like him doesn't see that how that change of roster changes role system of g2 and they expect everything instant must be good if you say that Snax is not good igl i say you are not good expert you just have more social media so you can talk but just talk of nothing
