WCG releases Nordic information
The World Cyber Games has disclosed more details regarding the Nordic qualifiers for this year's edition.
This year the Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian WCG qualifying process will be organised by the same company - Peliliiga -, with the organiser in Denmark still unnamed.
Following the national pre-qualifiers in these three countries, the top two teams from each nation will then meet at Assembly Summer 2010, an event that is expected to attract over 5,000 spectators.
Norway has already found its representatives for the Nordic Finals, being Oslo Lions and Expert-Gaming, the winner and runner-up of the pre-qualifier staged at The Gathering.
In Finland, the first pre-qualifier will be held at the Solid Mojo LAN party at Energia-Areena in Vanta, from 14-16 May, while the details about the second one will soon be made public.
As for Sweden, no information has yet been released, but Peliliiga has vowed to do so in the near future.
According to what HLTV.org has learned, this qualifying system makes it that, from these three countries, there will only be one team through to the WCG, which means two Nordic countries will most likely not be represented in the WCG Counter-Strike competition.
In 2009, Sweden had two teams - fnatic and H2k Gaming - at the World Finals, while Finland had one, Power Gaming. Norway did not have a single team in Chengdu after the WCG failed to find a proper organisation to host a qualifier there.
