StarLadder cancel StarSeries S19 due to extended Major timeline
The tournament organizer released an update for its 2025 events.

StarLadder have announced the invite and qualifier details for StarSeries S20 as well as the cancellation of StarSeries S19 due to the extended timeline for the Austin Major.

The tournament organizer was expected to host four events across 2025 and 2026, but will now hold only one event in 2025, namely StarSeries S20. The 16-team event will be held in Budapest, Hungary from September 13-21, with StarLadder now announcing the dates for the regional qualifiers:
North America: Eight teams, July 15–21, one team qualifies for the main event.
South America: Eight teams, July 15–21, one team qualifies for the main event.
Europe: 16 teams, August 12–17, two teams qualify for the main event.

StarLadder also stated that the invitations for all qualifiers will be distributed based on the VRS ranking and that all matches will be played in a best-of-three format. The invite date for the event and its qualifiers has been chosen as July 4.
The Ukrainian tournament organizer has also canceled their first event of the year, StarSeries S19, due to the extended timeline for the Austin Major.
Valve's decision to expand the Major from 24 to 32 teams means that Majors will last longer to create space for the additional stage, which would clash with the proposed dates for StarLadder's event (May 26-June 1).

"Unfortunately, we have to cancel the event in the first half of the year due to the extended timeline for the Major in June. We also found that rescheduling the tournament is impossible because there are no free weekends left in the first half of the year," they stated in their press release.
