Eternal Fire decided everyone's fate after stealing Vitality's seed.

G2 were picked first for the second time

To determine the semi-final matchups, the last draft stage of the BLAST Bounty took place following the end of the second quarter-final day.

After beating Vitality earlier in the day in the quarter-finals, Engin "⁠MAJ3R⁠" Küpeli's Eternal Fire stole the third seed. As the highest-seeded team out of the bottom half, they decided everyone's fate, having the choice between the two highest-seeded teams, G2 and Natus Vincere.

The Turks opted for G2 for a rematch from IEM Rio, where Eternal Fire decimated Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's team on two maps.

"There's three very strong teams. We picked G2 because Spirit is in good form, and with NAVI the history is not on our side," MAJ3R explained the choice.

That left Natus Vincere with a high-octane matchup against Spirit. The two sides last met at the Perfect World Shanghai Major, and the Russian side dealt NAVI a heavy blow in a 13-2 win on Mirage, contributing to their early exit from the tournament.

G2 is unlikely to beat Spirit, Niko is Donk's Bane and that's gone. It's unlikely malbs can replicate that

The system where weak team pick opponent is nonsense for semifinals. With this system 2 main favorites will always play in semifinal and never in the final, as nobody will pick them.
