VP dismantle MIBR to make Katowice Stage 2
The Brazilian side suffered elimination after being outclassed on both maps.

Virtus.pro became the next team to qualify for IEM Katowice Stage 2 after breezing past MIBR with a 2-0 scoreline (13-4 Anubis, 13-10 Ancient).
All four MIBR rounds on Anubis came from individual plays as the Brazilians couldn't get anything going in terms of executes. Ancient was more of the same, but André "drop" Abreu's troops did find a new lease of life at 5-11 down and put together a spirited comeback attempt that ended at 10-13.
New-look VP gathering steam
Virtus.pro's start to life under Denis "electroNic" Sharipov's calling was far from ideal, as they exited BLAST Bounty early after a solitary win against Complexity and began IEM Katowice by getting demolished by paiN.
They stabilized after that, though, and beat SAW and MIBR with two dominant 2-0 victories to book their spot in the IEM Katowice Stage 2.
"We took a lot of lessons from the first game, it was shocking for us and for everyone," said Petr "fame" Bolyshev in a post-match interview.
"It's just one step, we're now in the main stage. In the future, we will have a lot of intense games, and we need to get to the playoffs to show our game."
The Russian rifler also took some time to praise FL4MUS. His impact was certainly felt on the server as he averaged a 1.17 rating, but fame focused on his ability to raise team morale.
"In the first game, we were losing 2-10, and he was screaming, it was shocking [laughs]. But you need to have this guy who is exploding in energy, and it's boosting the team's morale," he said about Virtus.pro's newest recruit.
MIBR's struggles continue
MIBR's Katowice campaign was the exact opposite of Virtus.pro's. They began their tournament with an impressive win over Astralis but couldn't follow that up in the matches against 3DMAX and Virtus.pro.
"We just weren't feeling the game," drop admitted in a post-match interview. "Today, they were just correctly stacking everywhere, and I was calling really badly. We need to raise our individual level to beat teams like VP."
With the Brazilian team now sporting six losses in their last seven matches, they will need to return to the drawing board ahead of their next outing at PGL Cluj-Napoca.
