BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 invites announced

The 12 invited teams are now known, with four more set to join from regional qualifiers.

BLAST has announced the 12 invites to BLAST Open Lisbon 2025, which will kick off with a best-of-three double-elimination group stage on March 19-24 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Open event, which boasts a $400,000 prize pool, will then move to the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal, for the six-team single-elimination playoffs on March 28-30.

None of the invitations were declined, so all of the top teams in the world, according to Valve's global ranking as of the February 3 cut-off, will be in action when the tournament kicks off at the BLAST Studios.

GamerLegion barely missed out on an invite due to prize pool calculations for teams still in a tournament (IEM Katowice in this instance), which allowed teams eliminated early to benefit from their won prize money. In contrast, teams still in the tournament missed out on VRS points due to not receiving a set amount of prize money at the time of the ranking cut-off.
