NRG and Legacy qualify for IEM Dallas

There is now only one spot up for grabs in the $1 million competition.

NRG and Legacy have locked up spots at IEM Dallas 2025 after topping the North American and South American qualifiers, respectively, joining a stacked team list containing the likes of Vitality, G2, FaZe and Liquid.

NRG made it through the four-team North American qualifier undefeated, only dropping a map to Nouns in the grand final. It is the second tournament in a row that Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella's troops have won with Alexander "⁠br0⁠" Bro after they came in first place in CCT Season 2 North America Series 4 (an unranked competition).

The Danish player, who was signed on a free transfer following his release from Astralis, averaged a tournament-high 1.40 rating and topped the scoreboard in the final with a 1.53 rating.

The event adds to a busy period for NRG, who will also travel to Stockholm to compete in ESL Pro League Season 21 Play-in. Later on Thursday, the team will begin their qualifying campaign for BLAST Open Lisbon through ACE North American Masters Spring, which will also feature M80.

Legacy's qualifying run was even more impressive than NRG's. Ranked the lowest among the four teams in attendance, the Brazilian side topped the qualifier without dropping a single map, beating Sharks and Fluxo (twice) en route to first place.

lux led Legacy to victory with a 1.28 tournament rating

Lucas "⁠lux⁠" Meneghini, who recently joined the team as an IGL from paiN, capped off a fantastic tournament with a 1.56 rating in the final.

IEM Dallas will take place from May 19-25 and feature 16 teams, eight of which were invited through the Valve Regional Standings. NRG and Legacy join Lynn Vision, BC.Game, Falcons, 3DMAX and GamerLegion in qualifying for the North American event.

The final spot will be contested by HEROIC and Astralis in the last match of the European closed qualifier, scheduled for February 20.
