The MongolZ trounce 3DMAX to qualify for EPL S21 playoffs

The Mongolian squad is through to the eight-team playoff with a 3-1 record.

The MongolZ are through to the ESL Pro League Season 21 playoffs after blowing 3DMAX out of the water on Dust2 (13-4) and Ancient (13-7).

The Frenchmen, who have gone on a rollercoaster ride in the tournament's second stage with an opening victory against Eternal Fire followed by a loss to Vitality and a victory over Falcons, went missing in their 2-1 match against The MongolZ.

Usukhbayar "⁠910⁠" Banzragch and Azbayar "⁠Senzu⁠" Munkhbold dominated on the CT side of Dust2, with the latter pulling out the double AWP at times in a dominating 9-3 half that set up a quick T side to steal 3DMAX's map 13-4.

Ancient was also a one-sided map, with The MongolZ going 8-4 on the T side. It was Garidmagnai "⁠bLitz⁠" Byambasuren who led from the frontlines on the attack with 12 kills and 91.7% KAST in the first half, which ended 13-7 on the CT side with a strong showing by Senzu, who had 10 kills in eight rounds.

The MongolZ are the third team to punch their ticket to the eight-team single-elimination playoff bracket alongside the two 3-0 teams from the Swiss stage, Spirit and Vitality.

3DMAX will have one more shot at making the playoffs on the final day of Stage 2, where they are set to play one of the all-or-nothing 2-2 decider matches.
