Xyp9x to stand in for sycrone during BLAST Open Lisbon playoffs

MOUZ will be without their head coach as he is attending his brother's wedding.

MOUZ have announced that Dennis "⁠sycrone⁠" Nielsen will not be standing behind the team during their BLAST Open Lisbon playoff campaign, with assistant coach Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth set to fill in instead. sycrone is missing the event as he is attending his brother's wedding.

BLAST Open Lisbon will serve as Xyp9x's first taste of head coach work since he stopped playing, having joined MOUZ as an assistant coach early in 2024. At the time, the Dane told HLTV that he planned to one day "become the best coach" in the game.

Xyp9x joins MOUZ as assistant coach

MOUZ will begin their playoff campaign in the quarter-finals, having taken down Falcons and Spirit in the group stage before losing a seeding match to Vitality. Their first playoff match will be against the winners of The MongolZ vs. G2.

People take this peace of news unexpectedly well I would really love to see my GOAT on the stage, but I don't wanna get too hyped about MOUZ results, he is an assist-coach after all But I hope to hear some comms from him if Blast will decide to show them Hope he is motivated enough to grow as a coach and replace some TaZ or Zonic to make the scene more competitive
