xertioN led the way to a convincing quarter-final victory as G2 pulled a team-wide disappearance act.
In a repeat of the two teams' quarter-final matchup at ESL Pro League S21 two weeks ago, MOUZ secured a convincing win over G2 to move on to the semi-finals at BLAST Open Lisbon.
Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin's team's next match will see them face off against Eternal Fire on Saturday, the year's first encounter between two of the biggest risers of 2025.

xertioN dominates in one of career-best playoffs performances
While everyone on MOUZ pulled their weight, Dorian "xertioN" Berman was head and shoulders above the rest with huge impact on both maps.
On Inferno, the Israeli rifler made all the difference with 10 opening kills as the king of Banana, where he came out on top of the duel against Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa time and time again with a 9-3 score.
He picked up where he left off on Nuke with another scoreboard-topping performance and several crucial multi-kills, ending the series with a 1.83 rating and 120 ADR.
The two maps now rank as xertioN's second and third-highest-rated in playoffs matches, and make up a solid case for this being one of his best performances under the lights.
"For me it's about the confidence I have in the game, it's about putting in the work, and that's something I'm better at this year than last year," xertioN said when asked on the BLAST broadcast about his performance. "I'm smarter this year because I took a lot of knowledge from the staff around me, if it's the sports psychologist who really helps me set up for the games in the arena, for example."
A team-wide disappearance from G2
On the other side, there wasn't much to write home about, including from Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, who couldn't quite replicate the performance that nearly pulled G2 over the edge in the two teams' previous encounter in Stockholm.
The Russian AWPer had said before the match that the takeaways from the previous match were to "not hurry up with closing rounds, staying disciplined until the end of the round, and not lose advantages," but G2 failed to live up to those learnings in the rematch.

In the closing stages of Inferno, the team nearly threw away a 5v2 and then lost the penultimate round to a 3v5 starring Brollan, while at the end of the first half of Nuke MOUZ converted a 1v4 and 1v3, rubbing salt in the wound.
On the whole, it was a team-wide disappearance act in the new G2's first arena match. "There were some misunderstandings. We mixed up some stuff, maybe it's because of the stress on the stage. We weren't the same team as usual," Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski said on the broadcast after the loss.
