HOTU qualify for PGL Astana

The Kazakhstani-Russian squad won the qualifier without losing a map.

mou has transitioned to a coaching role in HOTU

HOTU have won the PGL Astana Closed Qualifier after defeating Mohammad "BOROS" Malhas' JiJieHao in the grand final to secure their spot at the $1,250,000 event.

The Kazakhstani-Russian squad, which is eligible for the Asian qualifier due to their three Russian players living in the Far East, began their campaign in the open stage and won six consecutive matches without losing a map to make it to Astana.

Their Rest of Asia qualifier run features wins against Eruption and Chinggis Warriors, as well as a double over The Huns in the upper-bracket and grand final matches.

That meant HOTU secured a spot in the closed qualifier, where they comfortably dispatched Rare Atom in the semi-final.

BOROS' JiJieHao squad was then the only thing standing between HOTU and a spot in Astana, and Rustem "mou" Telepov's squad won the best-of-five final with a 3-0 scoreline despite cutting it close on the first two maps.

Ex-AVANGAR member Aidos "kade0" Khairzhan topped the board in the grand final with a 1.21 rating, and will now have the chance to appear at his home event alongside teammate Suleımen "dukefissura" Orazaly and coach mou.

they may end up not playing any match in Astana ... only playoff would be played there , first stage is in Bucharest and its a serious question mark if Hotu would end in top 8 to qualify for playoff

They are now at Bootcamp in Vladivostok. Duka was good in EU, and in Asia he easily destroyed these bots. Moe raised HOTA in half a year. The fact that people in Asia do not know how to play is a fact. Just add Kazakhstan to Asia and you will see the complete dominance of Kazakh players over Arabs, Chinese and Mongols. In Asia, only The MongolZ play well

They've definitely have been heard of. They play in every Asian open qualifier. There's been controversy around them before, but they have played on LAN as well: hltv.org/events/8379/mesa-asian-masters-..

i mean this lan appearance shows a lot just look at their final game vs Rare Atom and how they got demolished with their full roster but now in Astana qualifier they played with their assistant coach and they destroyed Rare Atom and guess who CARRIED... THE ASSISTANT COACH LMAOOO totally legit)) hltv.org/matches/2381137/rare-atom-vs-ho.. (assistant goat duke dennis playing) hltv.org/matches/2380261/hotu-vs-rare-at.. (full team playing)

He may be a coach now, but he played in the past and was decent enough. You don't think he can have a good game against RA? Of course it's possible that he was cheating, but I haven't seen any evidence of that yet. There were quite a few people that were sure the HOTU would throw the game, but they won instead and now people are mad that they didn't throw.

the game against Rare Atom isnt the only instance though, he carried them throughout the whole qualifier which is really odd for someone who doesn't play for the team right now and has never been good in his career.

His all time stats are 1.06 which isn't fantastic, but is pretty decent for someone who was typically playing against European competition. He still had to overperform in this event, but that isn't proof that he cheated.

The structure is a bit different than Europe because each of these teams came from a regional qualifier. Which had 8 teams each (except for the Middle East) for a total of 28 teams.
