The MongolZ eliminate FURIA from PGL Bucharest

The Mongolian squad is now one win away from the playoffs.

mzinho put up a 1.69 rating on Nuke

The fourth day of PGL Bucharest came to an end with The MongolZ eliminating FURIA from the tournament with a 2-0 scoreline (Mirage 13-9, Nuke 13-11).

The Mongolian side stayed alive with the victory and now requires one more triumph to qualify for the playoffs after a slow start. They began their Bucharest campaign with surprising losses to 3DMAX and Betclic to find themselves in the 0-2 pool but seem to be slowly finding their form.

Two-map victories against Liquid and FURIA have stabilized the ship somewhat and allowed Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren's troops to put themselves in a solid position to avoid a shock group-stage exit.

They will now meet Falcons for a playoff spot on Thursday at 15:00 .

The MongolZ recovered from a slow start on Mirage with a dominant 8-2 scoreline on their defensive side to take a 13-9 win on their map pick. Next up was Nuke, where the teams were embroiled in a back-and-forth.

The MongolZ became the first team to string two rounds together in the eleventh round, and the chaotic nature of the game continued in the second half. Eventually, Ayush "mzinho" Batbold's 26 frags proved enough for a 13-11 victory and kept The MongolZ alive in Romania.

FURIA remain playoff-less in 2025

Brazil's flagship team has had a rough 2025 so far, and their playoff-less run is set to continue after an uninspiring 1-3 exit at PGL Bucharest.

While Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato continues to perform, the rest of the team isn't providing any backup to the Brazilian star.

The 25-year-old put up a 1.20 rating across the tournament, with Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes (0.92), Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo (0.85), and Felipe "skullz" Medeiros (0.71) all failing to contribute in the fragging department.

Furia has to figure out which one of those 3 players they will replace (if not all). Having two more or less stars and then 3 players who struggle to have more than 1.0 rating is not acceptable. That is waste of potential which might not last forever. Even one solid upgrade would do wonders, let alone two or more (i think one GOOD would be enough). There are gazilion BR players, i doubt all of them are under lucrative contracts and let's be honest, most of them would like to play in furia. Meanwhile pain and even other teams are doing better job when assembling roster than the "great one". This is pain in the ass of BR CS for a long time. Convince 5 players who each does his job well to stay in one freaking team (and win something for a change....).
