Five teams invited to ESWC 2010
Electronic Sports World Cup have released an update to their website, stating five teams are invited directly to ESWC 2010.
Last week we reported that Norwegian team Lions had received direct invite to ESWC 2010. When the information about the Swedish qualifier became available, it was also revealed that both fnatic and SK Gaming clearly had received invites as well.
A fresh update on ESWC.com, show five teams invited to ESWC 2010. The ESWC committee have handed out an invite to the 2008 champions from Frag eXecutors (MYM at the time), as well as the top four finishers at ESWC Master of Cheonan last year. This means that following five teams have been invited for the tournament:
Frag eXecutors – ESWC 2008 champions
fnatic – ESWC Master of Cheonan champions
SK Gaming – ESWC Master of Cheonan 2nd
mousesports – ESWC Master of Cheonan 3rd
Lions – ESWC Master of Cheonan 4th
On the ESWC website, "awaiting confirmation" is written next to Frag eXecutors, which indicates that the reigning champions are still to accept the invite. G7 teams fnatic, SK Gaming and mousesports have by the looks of the update, all accepted the invite. This could also put the boycott against the ESWC brand and the new owners to the ground, meaning we would see all the big names in action this summer.
Frag eXecutors – ESWC 2008 champions
fnatic – ESWC Master of Cheonan champions
mousesports – ESWC Master of Cheonan 3rd
Lions – ESWC Master of Cheonan 4th
