Default win leads to TYLOO vs. Lynn Vision for first Chinese spot at Austin Major *

TYLOO were handed a default win against DogEvil in the opening round of the Chinese qualifier on the way to the first Major-qualifying match.

Update: BZA registered a Steam account banned on the qualifier platform for cheating seven years ago

The story has been updated to reflect the latest information.

The first day of the Chinese qualifier for the BLAST.tv Austin Major came to a dramatic end after just one of two series was played out.

After Lynn Vision beat Rare Atom handily in a 2-0 series, the second match between DogEvil and TYLOO came to a halt after one of DogEvil's players, Junchi "BZA" Yang, was unable to "change his Steam account to match the registered account within the required timeframe."

The organizers further clarified that BZA registered a Steam ID that was banned on the B5 platform, where the Major qualifier is being held, for cheating seven years ago.

As a result, TYLOO were handed a default win to advance to the upper final, where they will play Lynn Vision for the first of two BLAST.tv Austin Major spots on offer in the Chinese qualifier.

Meanwhile, DogEvil dropped to the lower bracket to face off against Rare Atom for elimination on Wednesday. The winner of that series will move on to play the loser of TYLOO vs. Lynn Vision for the second Major spot on Thursday.

According to reports, seven years ago professional player "bza" had their account banned by the B5 platform, rendering the associated Steam account inaccessible. However, the account has never received any VAC detection penalties. The current situation now represents a standoff between Valve (Steam's parent company) and the B5 platform regarding account authority and responsibility.

Imagine hidding the truth that your account had been banned by B5 7 years ago to your teammates and still register this account for MRQ. So shameful, feel sad for his teammates. One more thing: B5 is the platform that found FORSAKEN was cheating on LAN.

There may be some bay luck in the selection of players. But in MXX's phone call, his teammates were vague about the matter and deliberately concealed the real reason for the loss. I don't think they are innocent, especially in the previous few games, DogEvil was suspected of cheating.

Wait I’m a little confused… If they weren’t able to play vs Tyloo then how will they be able to play in the lower bracket vs RA? What exactly is the “timeframe”? Regardless, let’s not fumble this Tyloo. I’ve been waiting for these stickers, it’s been many years.

well, bza was just banned from b5 but not vac and dogevil wasnt banned. so they can 4v5 actually if they really want to play. lol but in fact , bza will not able to play on B5 FOREVER including this mrq.
2025-04-15 16:30

In short, if B5 platform agrees to unban him after negotiated with valve(because theoretically if BZA do not receive a VAC ban then he should be able to play in MRQ), then they would be able to match against RA. Otherwise it would be the same result as today.

The ban was handed by the platform 7 years ago, not by Valve (thus unofficial by Valve rules), and BZA kind of claimed that he did not cheat and it was just an issue with the account because he purchased it from a third party and then got banned on the platform. His whole explanation is fishy af tbh.

> BZA linked his Steam account to register for the qualifier on the B5 platform with an account that was banned for cheating seven years ago. Does this correctly summarize the situation? His steam account is not VAC banned, but the platform account is banned, and he is claiming to have no knowledge of the prior ban on this platform account because he purchased the account.

The latest news is that BZA himself has responded that since 2022, he has not used the account ID: 76561198352414946 when participating in HLTV-recorded matches, but instead applied for a new account ID: 76561198354631329. However, due to his own negligence, he filled in the wrong account ID: 76561198352414946 when signing up for matches in the past year. But this so-called abandoned account from 2022 was even used by BZA in official matches. It has been verified that on February 17, 2023, in the first round of the closed qualifiers for the Paris Major Asia-Pacific RMR China region, in the demo of the match between LVG and Paris Demons, it can be seen that he was using the Steam ID: 76561198352414946, which he claimed to have abandoned in 2022 (this account also has game records on the Perfect World gaming platform in 2023), instead of the new account ID: 76561198354631329 that he said he had applied for since 2022. Everyone can view their own Steam ID. According to what he said, he had abandoned it in 2022. Why then did he use this ID to sign up for a competition in 2024? Besides, this account was still in use in 2023, which contradicts his claim that he had abandoned it in 2022.

I think there may be some problems with his account, so he did not use the old account after 2023. He now asked mrq organizer B5 to respond to why this account was banned in 2017. He himself said that he did not know the reason for the ban of this account, nor did he know when it was banned.
