MOUZ beat GamerLegion to lock in playoff berth

ash's men put MOUZ on the ropes on Nuke but couldn't force a Train decider.

Jimpphat was a menace with his clutches across the series

MOUZ are through to the playoffs of IEM Melbourne after moving past GamerLegion 2-0 (13-6 Inferno, 16-13 Nuke) in the Group A upper bracket semi-final.

Playoffs seemed inevitable for Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin's troops, who haven't let their foot off the gas since winning PGL Cluj-Napoca. They've finished second only to Vitality at ESL Pro League Season 21 and BLAST Open Lisbon and beat every other opponent since reaching the playoffs in Cluj, and will likely have a chance to get revenge over Vitality in the Rod Laver Arena.

GamerLegion drop to the lower bracket and will take on Complexity to avoid an early elimination on Tuesday.

Oldřich "PR" Nový bagged a double kill in the pistol and won a 1v2 clutch against a repeat force-buy from MOUZ for a 3-0 lead, but that start offered little solace to GamerLegion on their Inferno pick.

Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás was a menace with his AWP for much of MOUZ's CT side while Dorian "xertioN" Berman throttled Banana, and any late round efforts were dismantled by a red-hot Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo.

The Finn took over in the second half, playing the timer in the pistol round to win a clutch, proving a thorn in GamerLegion's side from Boiler on the offense, and securing a 1v3 clutch from that very position to close out the map.

MOUZ bagged an early lead on Nuke after winning the pistol, but were thwarted Outside and on their Ramp takes repeatedly as their 4-0 edge disappeared to an even score at the break.

GamerLegion then took the lead with a pistol win, 9-6, before MOUZ survived four consecutive rounds that came down to the wire with 1v1 and 1v2 situations. GamerLegion strung together three to lead 12-10 but struggled to close out, squandering two map points before the wheels fell off in overtime.

Every T round on Nuke it's like Rez and PR die instantly. They could have won that one. I'd like to see GL taking down some of these big names.

Feels so good that MOUZ slowly became one of the "big names". PS.: I also want to see Gamer Legion take down some of the big names. It feels like they are 1-2 roster moves away from a big breakthrough.

It is what it is. sl3nd is ass, he has to go unfortunately. I support teams independent of whether they have a Hungarian player though, so I'll still want them to win after that.

Seems like GL is just another MongolZ, 3Ddmax, Aurora except a lil worse where they make most games competitive against higher tier comp but just can’t cross the finish line

I'd blame it on the fact that they dont have that flair like 3DMAX, MongolZ or EF/Aurora have, they try to play like the top5 superteams but as aforementioned examples showed its best to play your own game against the superteams not rewrite their homework
