MIBR eliminate SAW from Melbourne

The Brazilians will meet Liquid in their next match.

MIBR have eliminated SAW from IEM Melbourne after prevailing in a hard-fought three-mapper (Anubis 13-10, Nuke 5-13, Inferno 13-10).

The result means that MIBR will now face off against Liquid at 06:00 , with the loser set to be eliminated.

For SAW, this is the end of the road in Australia. They began their campaign with a loss to Falcons and were bested by MIBR due to putting up two lackluster CT sides on Anubis and Inferno.

SAW began Anubis very well and put together a 6-1 lead before Felipe "⁠insani⁠" Yuji took over and dragged his team 9-8 ahead. Breno "⁠brnz4n⁠" Poletto then provided a crucial 4k on a hero AK-47, and the Brazilian eventually secured a 13-10 victory thanks to insani's 2.11 rating.

Nuke was a breeze for SAW, who prevailed in the opening force-buy wars and never looked back on the way to a dominant 13-5 victory.

That meant the winner was decided on Inferno. MIBR's T-side, this time powered by Lucas "⁠Lucaozy⁠" Neves and Rafael "⁠saffee⁠" Costa, was enough for eight rounds, and the Brazilian chased in their advantage to win 13-10 and stay alive at the tournament.
