PGL Astana opening matchups revealed

The new-look FURIA will debut against The MongolZ.

PGL has revealed the opening matchups for PGL Astana, set to be held in Kazakhstan's capital from May 10-18 and feature a $1,250,000 prize pool.

The event will begin with a Swiss system group stage before the eight-team playoffs get underway on May 16 in the Barys Arena.

Some of the standout matches include Ninjas in Pyjamas taking on Virtus.pro in what will be the Swedish organization's first tier-one LAN with their new roster, as well as The MongolZ taking on a FURIA side that now includes Danil "⁠molodoy⁠" Golubenko and Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis.

Astralis will also make their debut with Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen against underdogs ODDIK, while Olek "⁠hades⁠" Miskiewicz will put on a G2 jersey for the first time against MIBR.
