3DMAX inch past Legacy in Dallas
The French side laboured, but eventually got the job done against the underdog Brazilians.

3DMAX have clung onto their tournament life at IEM Dallas thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Legacy, scraping victories on Inferno (19-17) and Anubis (13-10) either side of a loss on Dust2 (5-13).
3DMAX took Inferno after a laborious affair where both sides struggled on their CT sides. 3DMAX converted the pistol to take economic control early on their defensive effort, but Legacy ground out a winning half once they got to grips with 3DMAX's aggression.
A converted pistol seemed to set Legacy on the path to victory, and they got themselves out to a 12-8 lead, but a waning of their coordination and collapse of their B site hold allowed 3DMAX to send the map into OT. The French side squandered a 2v5 at map point in the first set of extra rounds, but duly closed things out in the second OT.
Dust2 was a one-sided affair in favour of Legacy, with 3DMAX posting sluggish individual performances as their Brazilian opponents, in particular Lucas "lux" Meneghini, ran riot.
Anubis went back and forth, with Legacy taking a huge 7-2 advantage on the unfavoured CT side before 3DMAX hauled themselves back into contention, largely thanks to Bryan "Maka" Canda and some more up-tempo rounds.
3DMAX finished the series off with a confident T side, limiting Legacy to a brief three-round streak of hope before closing the game out to eliminate the Brazilians.
3DMAX struggle past the finish line
3DMAX were far from their best today, scraping to wins either side of an absolute thrashing on Dust2. Individually they struggled for consistent output, beyond that of Maka, but ultimately got just enough impact rounds out of the rest of the squad to secure the win.
In general 3DMAX have struggled to build upon the initial promise they showed when Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro joined the squad, and his transfer is looking more and more like a lateral move, considering their early exit at IEM Melbourne and shaky showings here in Dallas.
