G2 beat 3DMAX to stay alive in Dallas

Snax's troops will meet GamerLegion for a spot in the quarter-final later on Wednesday.

G2 have made the Group A lower-bracket final at IEM Dallas after defeating 3DMAX in a three-map series (Inferno 13-3, Dust2 10-13, Nuke 13-9) to send the French squad home.

Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's troops are now one win away from the IEM Dallas playoffs. They are set to face off against GamerLegion in the lower-bracket final in the final match of the group stage.

Snax records best map in G2 jersey

The series began on Inferno, where Snax and Mario "⁠malbsMd⁠" Samayoa took turns dominating the French side. The Polish IGL racked up 18 kills and 145 ADR on the CT side, including an ace, before the Guatemalan took over for the second half with nine kills in just four rounds and added a 5k of his own.

That map ended up being Snax's best in a G2 jersey, as the 31-year-old put up a 2.02 rating on the series opener.

Dust2 was a different story. G2 put up an 8-4 first half thanks to 13 kills by Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač, but 3DMAX finally put up a fight in the second half. Filip "⁠Graviti⁠" Brankovic's entries got the French side a lead late on the offense, and they kept their heads cool to force out the decider.

Nuke was also far from comfortable for G2, but the European combine got the job done in the end. A second-round force set them up for a 5-7 offensive half, and Olek "⁠hades⁠" Miskiewicz's multi-kills on the CT side secured a 13-9 win for G2.
