The perfect record of the three-time Women's Team of the Year in the Impact circuit has come to an end.
Reigning ESL Impact champions Imperial Valkyries have been knocked out of the Season 7 Finals in Dallas following a 2-1 loss to FURIA fe in the semi-finals of the $250,000 tournament.
It's a significant moment for women's Counter-Strike. Imperial Valkyries had kept a stranglehold on the women's circuit, winning the first six seasons and the two standalone events in Valencia (2022) and Katowice (2023). The former Nigma Galaxy squad was also named the Women's Team of the Year at the HLTV Awards every year between 2022 and 2024.
There were warning signs in the group stage that Imperial Valkyries might not be at their best in Dallas. They had to settle for second place in their group after losing to NIP Impact, and they had also been made to work extremely hard to beat FlyQuest RED in their opening game of the tournament.
Facing FURIA fe in a rematch of the Season 6 Finals, Imperial Valkyries took the lead in the series with a narrow 13-11 win on Train after coming back from 10-2 down. The Brazilians responded on Ancient, another map that came down to the wire, before cruising to a 13-5 victory on Nuke.

In the grand final, FURIA fe will face Supernova Comets, who beat NIP Impact 2-0 in the other semi-final bout. The two teams met in the group stage, where the Brazilians ran out 13-6 winners.
