The German organization will not sport a CS division at all "for the time being."

ALTERNATE aTTaX have announced their decision "to withdraw completely" from Counter-Strike, giving their current team permission to search for new opportunities.

The news comes after ALTERNATE aTTaX announced a "strategic realignment" in October of last year, dropping their roster in favour of the majority of the Reveal squad, whilst promoting Florian "⁠FoG⁠" Gloddek from their academy roster.

ALTERNATE aTTaX to put pro CS division on hold

Despite the organization's attempted change of direction, they have come to the conclusion that CS "does not currently offer the necessary basis... to set up a long-term sustainable project."

"At the turn of the year, we announced our withdrawal from professional Counter-Strike - combined with the ambition to build a new, sustainable and ambitious project," ALTERNATE aTTaX's statement read.

"Over the past few months, we have been working hard to realise this plan. Despite our great passion for Counter-Strike, however, we had to realise that the title does not currently offer the necessary basis, either economically or from a sporting perspective, to set up a long-term sustainable project."

The roster ALTERNATE aTTaX currently sport only recorded three matches on HLTV this year, placing third in DACH Masters Season 3. They also competed in seasons 52 and 53 of ESEA Main Europe, but failed to make a deep run in either season.

They were relevant before you were in primary school, of course you never heard of them. They've been largely unimportant in CSGO/CS2 because German CS has been largely unimportant. Mouz used to be primarily German and aTTaX were their rivals. Recently it's been BiG with aTTaX being a talent farm.

It is probably just nostalgia, but the Mouz vs. aTTaX rivalry always felt so much more interesting than Mouz vs. BIG. But yeah, for the younger/newer people: Not only did they fight over the first spot in Germany for years (which at the time actually meant something), but there were legit tournaments when both of them went into them as favorites.

Yeah, I mean, by the time BiG came around Mouz was already international. It just couldn't be the same. And to be fair, Mouz made the correct pivot. It sucks that German CS is in such a bad place (as an NA fan obviously I understand), but you have to give Mouz some credit here. They went from being a talent farm org in CSGO to one of the top orgs in CS. ATTaX obviously intended to stick to German CS, and we know why BiG's with German CS, and unfortunately it's just not a big space right now. I still remember watching aTTaX and mousesports in 1.6 tournaments, and both teams would be really good.
