BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 1NRG send Complexity to 1-2 pool in Austin
Complexity are on the verge of elimination after defeat in the regional dust up.
NRG have continued their strong start to their BLAST.tv Austin Major run by taking down Complexity, beating their fellow NA team 13-9 on Inferno.
The defeat leaves Complexity on the verge of elimination from the Major after having arrived in Austin short of their star AWPer Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli due to visa issues. NRG meanwhile are now a series victory away from Stage 2 qualification.
A poor start on the T side spelled disaster for Complexity, as they found themselves aced by Jadan "HexT" Postma before struggling to put together offensive round wins, despite making many close.
NRG were in danger of throwing away the map as they themselves switched over to T side, losing the pistol and a flurry of early rounds, but once they stabilized their economy and got some opening kills out of HexT, they duly converted.
Complexity can't overcome stand-in troubles
Complexity were one of the pre-stage favorites ahead of the opening stage in Austin, but hallzerk's absence due to visa issues put a dent in their campaign before it began. Still, many expected them to qualify regardless, but the team are now in dire straits.
Michael "Grim" Wince was likely the man Complexity needed to step up in order to carry them through their stand-in woes, and he wasn't able to do that in this match. Johnny "JT" Theodosiou tried his best and Danny "Cxzi" Strzelczyk had some good moments, but Complexity were ultimately well beaten and now have to fight for their lives to make Stage 2.
