Legacy upset FaZe to book Stage 3 spot in Austin
The Brazilian team made it through Stage 2 unscathed.

Legacy are through to the top-16 stage of the BLAST Austin Major after defeating FaZe in two maps in Stage 2's 2-0 pool. It's a remarkable achievement by the Brazilian side, who entered the tournament as a last-minute replacement and had to survive two elimination series to make it out of Stage 1.
The victory against FaZe capped a dominant Stage 2 run from Lucas "lux" Meneghini's troops, who are playing at a level never seen before. They were in control the entire time on Mirage and showed great composure on Dust2, where they recovered from a slow start and then staved off FaZe's late comeback effort.
"We gave everything to be here, to show our potential," lux said after the match. "After that day one, we were, like, 'Come on, we've been practicing a lot, we've been practicing well, can we show the CS that we play?'
"Now we're showing that CS and the passion we have for this game."

Legacy came out guns blazing and stormed to a 7-0 lead on the T side of Mirage, with each round win being followed by a lot of shouting and screaming, which prompted a response from Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev
FaZe kept their comeback hopes alive with a streak of three rounds before the end of the half, and they followed it up with a vital pistol round win after half-time. However, Legacy stabilized once they had money to work with - after winning a round with two saved guns - and quickly put the game past their opponents.
FaZe came out on Dust2 looking more composed and picked up a convincing 5-0 lead. "We're alive now," Finn "karrigan" Andersen shouted early in the half after yet another ambulance impression. It seemed like the good vibes FaZe was back, but the rest of the half was controlled by Legacy, who picked up a 7-5 lead with a very tight defense.
FaZe kept the scoreline tight after half-time, but Legacy ran away with the game once they had money in the bank. Down 8-12, FaZe began to work away at the deficit and took the game the distance thanks to a big AWP 3k by s1mple, only to stumble at the final hurdle.
