frozen: "It was one of the best crowds I've played in front of; It kind of sucks to go out this way"

"Just show that support to every team that is going to be on that stage, because it was a really amazing feeling to stand there and to feed off that crowd," the Slovakian rifler asks of the fans in the arena.

FaZe had their campaign in Austin brought to an early finish by The MongolZ in the quarter-finals, unable to repeat their win from their qualifying match in Stage 3 despite the roars of support from the fans in the arena.

"It was one of the best crowds I've ever played in front of," a disappointed David "frozen" Čerňanský told HLTV after the loss. The Slovakian wished he could have played more in front of the fans, but FaZe's "Hail Mary" run with Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev didn't continue in the Moody Center.

Despite his team's disappointing exit, frozen hopes that the crowd will give that same support to all of the teams taking the stage on Saturday.

"Just show that support to every team that is going to be on that stage, because it was a really amazing feeling to stand there and to feed off that crowd from the energy they were giving," he says. "I'm just happy for the other teams that they have a chance to play there."

frozen, commiserations on the loss. Not the way you would have wanted your Major to go. What's going through your mind right now?

Lots of things, to be honest. First of all, it kind of sucks to go out this way, right? Yesterday when we did the ceremony, the atmosphere and... even today, it was one of the best crowds I've ever played in front of.

You would want that to happen again, but unfortunately we go out 2-0. We knew we could not expect the same game against The MongolZ like when we qualified for the playoffs, when we played them the other day. But yeah, I mean... probably just disappointed.

What went differently this time that made it go in their favor?

I don't know. The first map, it felt like we were there. I felt like the decisions we were making were alright. I heard from some guys that maybe there were some unlucky rounds on the CT sides, but then on the T side, we just couldn't really get our foot into the game.

Between the maps, we shook it off quite well, we felt like we were going to the game with a confident feeling. It was one of our worst maps; it was the second time we played Mirage with rain and s1mple together, so we knew it was going to be rough. We wanted to reset, and I think we reset well for Anubis, but towards the end they had some good answers to some of the things we were doing and they really made it hard for us to get the round.

It almost looked like some of that FaZe bullshit was going to happen. You won that Tec-9 round on B, and usually that's where you stabilize and manage to turn those games on their heads. Not doing that here and going out in this fashion, what does it mean for FaZe going forward from this event?

Well, we'll see. We came here with a Hail Mary with s1mple, so for now, it's just going to be reevaluating and seeing what we want to do with the future.

As you said, it was a Hail Mary, you don't really know what the future holds in terms of that. How are you approaching that in this break?

We are probably going to have some discussions for sure. We'll try to take a rest as well, but we have to plan for the future.

The crowd was obviously in your favor. They were really behind you throughout the whole thing. Do you have any words for them in terms of the support they were giving you and having them behind you?

Just show that support to every team that is going to be on that stage because it was a really amazing feeling to stand there and to feed off that crowd from the energy they were giving. I'm just happy for the other teams that they have a chance to play there.

Every time, the players say it was the best crowd they've ever played in front of in every tournament

In psychology its called recency bias. The players aren’t saying this as a default corporate answer but because they probably genuinely feel so

Well it actually is Also not to mention alot of these players play the biggest events with great crowds (Kato, Cologne, Melbourne, the Major, etc so they actually have amazing crowds) in this case the ENTIRE center was cheering faze so that's obviously a huge 9000+ fans for faze that day

Going to playoffs with a dead team and a stand-in, yes it "kind of" sucks but is not THAT bad. People are really overreacting to faze's elimination.

Meh man they shouldve went to finals even with s1mple, the bracket was way too easy compared to the previous majors but sucks, mongolz deserved

I think FaZe felt the pressure more than The Mongolz, that is why they could not make it. Having s1mple and having a crowd rooting for you and having something to prove is not only a benefit, but it can be also a burden. Kudos for trying their best, but it was obvious in the match who were the more calm team, and this reflected into the clutch situation imho. GGWP

Yeah you could see s1mple was shaking more thab usual, frozen was really shaky as well and elige was just so unconfident until that 1v2 woke him up a bit. Also karrigan with his CT calls was just respecting mongolz space way too much compared to their earlier game where they were 10x more aggro

I mean at mirage the crowd was going insane and you could see that it fucked over frozen bunch off times when he was lurking.
