CPL to make announcement tomorrow

The Cyberathlete Professional League will finally make its long-awaited announcement on Saturday morning.

The CPL started a countdown clock on its website in mid-March, which indicated that an announcement was expected for Saturday, May 1st, at 10.00 CET.

The excitement surrounding the prospect of the CPL making a return has been overshadowed by criticism from former employee Tonya Welch, who claims the company's new chief, Scott Valencia, has made a serious of questionable moves in recent times, including lying about an investment group from Abu Dhabi that was behind the deal.

Still, former CPL president Angel Munoz has recently attested the legality of the company's transition to the new owners, which means that everything could be ready for a big announcement.

If Torbull decides to start Team 3D again he doesn't need CPL to come back... he already has ESEA and the money to travel a team pretty much everywhere... But... who would play for Team 3D, the best players are in coL and EG, two very good organizations... 3D wouldn't be as good as in their era. There are other good players but that would mean destroying some teams... don't know if that's what he wants.

i agree. Arbalet is nearly unmatched in the ability to create good tournaments with prize money that is ACTUALLY paid out. i am expecting either a very modest or even disappointing announcement or an enormous one that will have everyone continuing to question the truth/legality behind the announcement.
