FISSURE Playground 1BIG consign new-look HEROIC to lower bracket in Belgrade
HEROIC looked every bit the new roster as they fell to a far more well-versed BIG squad.
BIG have opened their account for the season with a 2-1 win over a revamped HEROIC squad, bagging comfortable wins on Dust2 (13-6) and Nuke (13-5) either side of a loss on Mirage (7-13).
HEROIC bore the signs of a new squad throughout the series, often squandering advantages. On Nuke they were the architects of their own downfall, going 12:6 in opening kills yet still losing the map by a wide margin, and lost Dust2 to a comical smoke defuse in a round they should have won.
BIG meanwhile can thank a stellar performance by Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz for ensuring relatively smooth sailing, the veteran captain rolling back the years to be the best player on the server for both of their map wins.
There were some positives for HEROIC to take from the game, however, specifically the strong performances of new signings Linus "nilo" Bergman and Gleb "gr1ks" Gazin on Mirage and their ability to find opening advantages across the series.
