Astralis make FPG semi-final over Lynn Vision

The Danes began their playoff campaign with a two-map victory.

Astralis put Lynn Vision to the sword in a 2-0 victory (Nuke 13-2, Dust2 16-13) to secure their spot in the semi-final.

The Danes picked Nuke in the series and breezed to a 10-2 offensive half that continued their successful streak on the map, while Dust2 was a much closer affair.

Astralis were down 4-7 despite winning the pistol and a full eco in the early exchanges, but eventually fought back to secure overtime after a quick B attack in the final round of regulation.

Astralis then picked up the pace and didn't let Lynn Vision catch their breath after a couple of pacy plays, which helped them secure a 16-13 win alongside a top-four spot.

Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen and company now await their top-four opponent, namely the winner of GamerLegion vs. BetBoom.

HooXi's Astralis making Nuke their playground

Since HooXi joined Astralis, the Danes have won seven out of their eight matches on Nuke, with the only loss coming in a spirited 10-13 effort against Spirit. In Belgrade, they played the map four times and got off to dominant starts in three of their matches.

In the FISSURE Playground group stage, they put TYLOO to the sword with an 11-1 T half, dominated MIBR 10-2 on the defense, and equalled that scoreline in the quarter-final against Lynn Vision.

Astralis looked like a well-oiled machine on the map, where both Victor "⁠Staehr⁠" Staehr and Martin "⁠stavn⁠" Lund averaged over 100 ADR in a dominant 13-2 display.

"I just think all the players like it and we kind of know how people will react," HooXi told HLTV about their success on Nuke after the victory.

"We play very fluently and I think our communication is very good on the T side. Mainly it's our T side that carries the map because we pick it a lot, and we get to start there. Everyone likes it, and that makes everything easier."

While Astralis' Nuke hasn't been regularly tested against the world-class teams, it looks like the Danes have finally found a home map they can build on.
