MOUZ earn Cologne playoff spot over NAVI

NAVI started strong in both maps before waning in the face of MOUZ's recoveries.

MOUZ have bagged a playoff berth at IEM Cologne with a 2-0 win over Natus Vincere, overcoming slow starts to take Mirage (13-10) and Nuke (13-10).

Next up for MOUZ is a battle for a semi-final spot with the winner of Aurora vs. Spirit, whilst Natus Vincere will pursue a lower bracket run starting with a matchup against Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Natus Vincere kicked off the series on the front foot on their map pick of Mirage, Mihai "⁠iM⁠" Ivan's opening kills powering their slick offense into an early lead. MOUZ recovered, the whole team contributing multi-kills to right the ship, to head into halftime only 5-7 down.

MOUZ's resurgence continued into the second half, their proficient trading into the A bombsite a constant issue for Natus Vincere to deal with. iM provided yet more multi-frags to give Natus Vincere a smattering of rounds, but none of his teammates could step up to support him, allowing MOUZ to march to a 13-10 victory despite the Romanian's 1.90 rating.

A pistol win and conversion granted Natus Vincere another good start on Nuke, but MOUZ's attack put the defense under pressure with some splits onto the A bombsite. Natus Vincere managed to wrestle back control with a win on a low-buy, before put a stop to multiple Upper executes in order to see out a convincing half.

MOUZ began the comeback in impressive fashion, their CT side doing an excellent job of disrupting Natus Vincere's attempts to take Yard control and stringing rounds together. Natus Vincere did eventually bag a low-buy victory but MOUZ answered back immediately, their defense holding strong for a 13-10 victory.
