Just one more Finals spot remains up for grabs.
Aurora made light work of HEROIC in a two-map series (Overpass 13-2, Dust2 13-9) to secure the penultimate spot at the BLAST Bounty Finals.
The Turkish team, buoyed by the return of their talisman Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş, will now make the flight to Malta for the eight-team LAN tournament, set to be played from August 14-17.
HEROIC decided to test Aurora's Overpass and picked it against the Turkish side, but Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli's troops were more than up to the task. They put up a 12-0 CT side that meant their victory was a question of if, not when, and the Turks got the job done with a 13-2 scoreline at the end after barely breaking a sweat.
Dust2 went much better for HEROIC, who put up a respectable five-round score on the CT half thanks to the Swedish duo of Linus "LNZ" Holtäng and Linus "nilo" Bergman putting up double digits. That kept HEROIC in the match, as did a miraculous Deagle round that kept the score level at 8-8.
Aurora then once again took over, however, and won five out of the last six rounds to comfortably breeze into the LAN Finals.
