zeki goes inactive; zneel joins Unique

Unique-Esports have announced that Erik "zeki" Mattsson has opted to take a break from profesional gaming.

In late February we reported that Unique-Esports had welcomed ex-Gamers.nu into the warmth. Today the organization announced that Erik "zeki" Mattsson has chosen to step down from his role in the team.

Although no exact reason has been given on the website, HLTV.org understands that personal issues play a part of his decision.

Mattsson will however not quit the team on a permanent basis, and he has been set aside for an unknown period of time. Replacing Mattsson will be former SK Gaming player Jim "zneel" Andersson, who has been brought in as a stand-in for the Clanbase EuroCup XXI play-offs.

"Hi everyone, I wish I didn't have to release this statement but sadly i have to. One of my best friends in the scene and one of the best players i've ever played with, sadly has resigned. I am talking about Erik "zeki" Mattsson. Why this happends is not important but we will keep Erik in the squad but as inactive for now. And we all wish him the best. But life goes on and we have alot coming up and we got the Eurocup XXI playoffs that will kickoff this week", was said on the team's website.

"For this event we bring in a standin that we are all satisifed with and really happy that he helps us out in such short notice. This is just a temporary solution for the playoffs in EuroCup and he will not join the team. Im talking about Jim "zneel" Andersson that you all recognize from SK and H2K. More news to be announced about this summer's events that we will be attending within the next month."

With this, Unique-Esports house the following team:

imo professional gaming is when you get paid for playing enough to just dont work and keep training to become better if not, you are just a esport player Did zeki get paid so much ever? Propobly not.

Keep training ? Seriously ? The swedish players does not train that much . I heard that one in fnatic played for like , 30 mins a day , And thats not training ...

Haha SK-fanboy detected, one of the lowest species on earth.

im pretty sure he didnt get recognised by H2k and SK for being a "crap eater" :) even if he's not a the top of his shape, he's still an amazing player.

he's kinda right, face is the only player they've picked up in recent years who they've help realised his full potential. fnatic groomed gux into a superstar, sk booted gtr almost instantly who ended up making fnatic the best team of 2009 and have recruited khrystal, zneel, gtr etc. in quick succession only to boot them after a couple of tournies imo threat would be long gone by now if he was performing for sk the way he currently is for fnatic, but who knows, maybe that would be a good thing ;P haha. But you gotta trust the fnatic guys opinion of a player, they've made so many good recruitments and been at the top for so long now
