Kursy: "I feel like I'm overthinking"
GamerLegion's AWPer admits he is not yet comfortable in his new team.

GamerLegion's Esports World Cup campaign was brought to a swift end at the hands of The MongolZ, as the Mongolian side crushed their European opponents in 2-0 fashion.
GamerLegion's most recent addition, Jeremy "Kursy" Gast, endured a difficult series, mustering only two AWP kills on his way to a dismal 0.69 rating. In general the Frenchmen has struggled to make an impact since joining GamerLegion in July.
"I'm still not 100% comfortable," Kursy admits when reflecting on his time in GamerLegion thus far. "I should make more of myself, I should give more, and I feel like I will be more comfortable soon."
With a disappointing Esports World Cup campaign behind him, Kursy spoke with HLTV to give his thoughts on his time in GamerLegion thus far, playing on an English speaking team, and community criticism of his play.
Listen to the interview here.
First, commiserations. What do you think went wrong for GamerLegion in that series?
I think they were better, and we were not as confident as we should maybe be. They were just peeking us, killing us, they were just better than us.
Now that you've had a bit of time with GamerLegion, you've played a few events now, how have you found settling into your new team?
I think I'm still not 100% comfortable now. I should make more of myself, I should give more, and I feel like I will be more comfortable soon. I try to be.
Why do you think it's not comfortable yet?
Because I think I have a lot of things to think about, in-game and out of the game, and I feel like I'm maybe overthinking a bit. I try to make it more simple for me, but it's hard to do it I think.
Is that to do with the step up in level?
I don't know if it's because of the level. I think it is a bit, but I feel like I just think about too many things, and I don't focus on the right thing. I just need to be more comfortable to not think about it every time, and to be in the game how I should be.
Is that anything to do with the pressure? I think a lot of people were surprised when GamerLegion picked you up, do you feel any of that pressure, or put any on yourself?
I don't make any pressure for myself, but maybe. I try to play the best I can, but I don't do it, I cannot I feel, so I think maybe it's a bit of pressure about this. Because I try to do it, but I can't. So I don't know.
Were you surprised when GamerLegion contacted you and asked you to join?
Not really, no, I was not surprised.
In-game, it feels like you've been doing a lot of rifling over AWPing. For example, in this series you had only two AWP kills in total. Is that part of the gameplan, or is that just how the games are working out?
I didn't have a lot of kills to be honest, rifle or AWP, but yeah sometimes I am more comfortable with the rifle, sometimes with the AWP. I feel like I didn't take it before because I was not in the mood to play it, if I can say this. It depends on the day, depends on the map, depends who we play against, it depends.
But you have that freedom, to say which you want to play with?
Yeah, I have it.
Looking forwards for you in GamerLegion, what do you think you need to do to get more comfortable? Or do you just need time?
I think yeah, I need some experience. I need to be more focused on good things, and yeah, I don't know… just more experience and to play more, I think.
In terms of communication, as you played on French teams before, how has it been on an English speaking team?
It's harder I think, when I try to find some words to say, it takes more time for my brain to say it. For example as well, when I hear some communication from others, it takes me more time to respond. I feel like my brain is a bit overthinking because of this. Overthinking about the game, overthinking about the communication as well, it's a bit hard for me, but I think it's getting better and better.
Like I said, when you joined GamerLegion people were surprised, and you've had some rough games so far, so there's been a bit of criticism from the community. Does it have any effect on you?
I don't watch, to be honest. People criticize everyone, the best player or the worst, people are doing this anyway.
It doesn't bother you?
Yeah.
