G2 vs Liquid headlines BLAST Open London first round

Sixteen teams will be duking it out online for six spots at Wembley Arena.

Liquid will take on G2 in the first round of the group stage

BLAST has revealed the groups and opening matchups for Open London, which will kick off on August 27 with an online group stage featuring 16 teams. Twelve teams were invited through the VRS, while the remaining four came from the Rising tournaments held in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

The 16 teams were split into two double-elimination groups, where every match will be played in a best-of-three format. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the LAN Finals, scheduled for September 5-7 at OVO Arena Wembley.

G2 vs Liquid will be one of the standout matches of the opening round, which will see Felipe "⁠skullz⁠" Medeiros make his Imperial debut against MOUZ.

VRS No.1-ranked Spirit will go up against FlyQuest in what should mark Andrey "⁠tN1R⁠" Tatarinovich's first game for the Russian side, while Vitality will take on M80.
