Rare Atom part ways with Trash

The Chinese player has been let go after just four appearances with the team.

Trash played only two events with Rare Atom

Rare Atom have dispensed with the services of Aojie "⁠Trash⁠" Tian, the Chinese organization announced on Thursday. The decision comes just one month after the 20-year-old was moved to the bench following Junbing "⁠Tiger⁠" Zhen's addition to the roster.

Trash linked up with Rare Atom in June as the team moved on from veteran HaoWen "⁠somebody⁠" Xu. He had an auspicious start as he averaged a team-high 1.34 rating in their title-winning run at GangKui Cup Season 1, but struggled to hold his own at FISSURE Playground 1, where he posted a tournament-low 0.63 rating.

Tiger joins Rare Atom

Earlier on Thursday, Rare Atom qualified for Perfect World CS Challenge Series 1 after beating Just Swing in a three-map series. Scheduled for August 29-31 in Shanghai, the tournament is headlined by 3DMAX, TYLOO, Lynn Vision and B8.

As one of the two qualified teams, Rare Atom will start the tournament from the lower bracket.

Currently ranked fifth in the Asia VRS, Rare Atom are inside the qualification zone for the Budapest Major. Asia-Pacific will send six teams to the event in Hungary after Valve ruled that Stage 1 will follow the same slot allocation as the Austin Major.
