BLAST Open London 2025M80 send VP crashing out of BLAST London
Virtus.pro's woes continued as poor T sides cost them against North American squad M80.
M80 will continue their lower bracket journey in BLAST Open London 2025 thanks to a 2-1 win over Virtus.pro, eliminating the Russian side with wins on Dust2 (13-6) and Mirage (13-9) after receiving a thrashing on Overpass (4-13).
M80 can now look forward to a matchup with the loser of FaZe vs. Natus Vincere, whilst Virtus.pro exit early doors.

It seemed Virtus.pro might cruise through their first lower bracket game after Overpass, as the Russian squad punished M80 on the North American's map pick with an imperious and well-versed CT side.
It was a short-lived moment in the sun, however, as Virtus.pro wilted badly on the remaining maps, their ponderous offensive halves caught flat-footed time and time again by M80's aggression.
HexT finds insane lurk, sneaking under ICY's scope, to win series
Virtus.pro strung some CT rounds together in the second half of Mirage to tease a potential comeback, only to find themselves bested by an insane lurk by Jadan "HexT" Postma, which involved sneaking under Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov's scope.
Virtus.pro flounder again
Bar a brief bright spot in qualifying for BLAST Bounty S2 finals, Virtus.pro's season has been woeful. They failed to make it through IEM Cologne Stage 1 and exited early at FISSURE Playground, Esports World Cup, and now BLAST Open London.
Virtus.pro don't have a map pool to speak of, only really finding success on Inferno and Overpass, are incredibly inconsistent even within a series, and lack for individual form.
There was some surprise felt within the community that Virtus.pro only made a single change, that of their anchor, in the off-season, and the Russian squad's current form suggests that surprise was justified.
