Virtus.pro bench electroNic
The Russian captain has been removed from the starting lineup after another disappointing tournament exit.

Virtus.pro have moved in-game leader Denis "electroNic" Sharipov to the bench, the Russian organization announced on Friday. The decision came just hours after the team was eliminated from BLAST Open London in last place following a defeat to No.30-ranked M80.
electroNic joins Timur "FL4MUS" Marev and David "n0rb3r7" Danielyan on the bench as Virtus.pro try to work through a torrid run of results since coming back from the player break.
Prior to the BLAST London event, the team went out last at FISSURE Playground, 9th-12th in IEM Cologne Stage 1, 5th-8th at the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals, and 9th-16th at the Esports World Cup.

In a statement, Virtus.pro CEO Nikolai Petrossian lamented that the organization and electroNic "weren’t able to build a team together that could consistently fight for top positions at the biggest tournaments."
He added: "I’d like to thank him for the journey we shared, no matter how difficult it was at times.
"Big thanks to Denis for his genuine motivation and his readiness to take on the responsibility of being the team’s captain.”
electroNic signed with Virtus.pro in April 2024 in a blockbuster transfer from Cloud9, replacing Nikolay "mir" Bityukov in the starting lineup.
The addition of the four-time HLTV Top 20 Player generated significant hype, but, just like Cloud9, the team didn't live up to expectations. electroNic ended up taking over in-game leadership duties at the end of 2024 following the benching of longtime captain Dzhami "Jame" Ali.
The makeup of Virtus.pro's roster has changed significantly since electroNic's arrival, with Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev and the Petr "fame" Bolyshev the only constants. The team has also swapped coaches three times in the last 16 months.
According to Virtus.pro, the name of the team's new fifth player will be unveiled "soon." The Russian team will return to the server in two weeks at FISSURE Playground 2, which is slated to begin on September 12.
Virtus.pro now have:
Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev
Petr "fame" Bolyshev
Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov
Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy
Ivan "F_1N" Kochugov (coach)
David "n0rb3r7" Danielyan (benched)
Timur "FL4MUS" Marev (benched)
Denis "electroNic" Sharipov (benched)
