fnatic eliminate GamerLegion from BLAST Open
CYPHER top-fragged again as he helped put his team one win away from Wembley Arena.

fnatic have won their fifth series in a row in what has been a weekend as productive as it has been exhausting.
The Rodion "fear" Smyk-led team are competing in both BLAST London and DraculaN this week, making it to the grand final of the latter and now securing top-eight in the former after knocking out the world number 16.

It's a turn of form few would have expected after the sale of Matúš "MATYS" Šimko to G2 and the signing of Cai "CYPHER" Watson — a player who has muddled his way through tier two since emerging at Paris in 2023 — last month.
But with the prospect of a home crowd ahead of him, CYPHER has been in electric form online for BLAST Open's group stage and boasts a 1.33 rating thus far.
"It's always good to beat a fellow Brit," CYPHER told the desk post-game, referring to his elimination of Ashley "ash" Battye from the London event.
One more win, and fnatic will play their first Big Event playoff match since Gamers8 2023, 746 days ago.

Hugo: "The AWP gap is showing"
Dmytro "jambo" Semera was a one-time target for GamerLegion before his rumoured $600,000 price tag proved a stumbling block. Jeremy "Kursy" Gast was the budget option, in comparison, and the story in this series was that you get what you pay for.
Although some of jambo's kills were low impact on map one (like getting three in a 1v4 attempt plus some costly deaths, hence his negative round swing), the eye test was clear in his speed and accuracy with the Big Green. Kursy, meanwhile, managed a few clutches on the rifle but never found stability with the AWP.
On Ancient, that fact was also reflected on the scoreboard with more flashy and aggressive combat AWPing from jambo at crucial moments. In the end, no amount of clutches could save Kursy from finishing the series below 50 damage per round, a pitiful return for any AWPer, even one so fresh to this level of play.
