acoR signs with ECSTATIC

The former MOUZ and GamerLegion member will take up the vacant AWP spot on the Danish team.

acoR joins ECSTATIC as their new AWPer

ECSTATIC have announced that they have completed the signing of free agent Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand, who will take up AWPing duties following the benching of Kristoffer "Kristou" Aamand.

acoR has been on the lookout for a new team since the end of 2024, when TSM benched their entire lineup. In May, he attended IEM Dallas with GamerLegion as a stand-in, averaging a 0.88 rating as the team beat 3DMAX, FURIA and G2 en route to a 5th-6th place finish.

In the last two months, he had been playing for m1x, featuring the core of the old Bad News Eagles lineup.

acoR will bring an injection of experience to the Danish team, which is currently ranked 24th in the Europe VRS, eight places off the Major qualification zone. Next week, the team will travel to Poland to compete at Betclic Clash Summer, a $10,000 tournament headlined by DraculaN champions fnatic.

With acoR's signing, ECSTATIC are now:

If their bar was anyone better than Kristou you could get cajunb out of retirement and bring him in.

Much better than Kristou, its not like anyone expected for them to sign someone like device or nicoodoz. Yeah, they could try some young player, but with their good VRS, its easier to get someone experienced.

The state of danish cs guys, right here in front of your eyes At least could've trialed junyme. If it worked out they would sell him for hundreds of thousands. And acor, after his stint is done they will take him to retirement home. For free

the best thing about acor is his predictability. everyone knows his floor and ceiling. short-term it's an upgrade and he could help them qualify to budapest major but long-term they're cooked astralis are in the same situation with device btw. they should sign whoever is next in line after molodoy and kl1m

Yeah its a fine philosophy, but u need the actual talent and players for it to be worth it, u cant just assume ppl with good ratings in much lower tier play are good. The players that made the jump all had experience against solid teams and very strong eyetests compared to players like kl1m

Probably the best signing they could have gotten, for now. - lucky/nicoodoz/regali not realistic - cadian... is he even interested? It would have been fun to see, though - jboen, sl1m3, etc. need to grind t3 more or it's just going to be kristou v2.

At this point I don't even know if it's an upgrade or not, it's been years since acoR has been any good, Jesus is really the talent pool in the Danish scene totally dead? Astralis bringing back Magisk, ECSTATIC signing acoR. Like surely you could've signed like Lucky for example, he is decent, is still young and has some experience aswell, like, I don't know, really weird change, I don't get what they're doing.

Yeah no wonder he was a free agent considering the fact that the last time he was good was in GamerLegion I don't know how many years ago already. What I'm sad about is the fact that you're a solid Tier2 team like ECSTATIC, if you want to make a step deeper, qualify for a Major for example, you have to invest a bit sometimes, not just go for what's cheap, that doesn't make them more dangerous in my eyes.

Yeah I can understand that, but it's just really sad, also, I don't know if it's real with those 'personal reasons' or not, but if it's not, then they're just downgrading their roster, I'm sad like really for the Danish scene, Astralis doesn't have the money to buy youngsters from teams like ECSTATIC or Sashi etc... What a timeline.

Many players are better than Krisou, but would this be a good move for them in the long run? It's like adding +1-2% to winrate or so - kinda nice, but it not gives us an x-factor. Are there any promising young awpers in Denmark with the potential to increase the probability of winning by 5-10%?
