MOUZ stop M80's run to make semi in London
A spirited effort by the majority North American squad was not enough for a top-four spot.

MOUZ have defeated M80 in the BLAST Open London quarter-final in a three-map series (Ancient 13-10, Mirage 9-13, Inferno 13-3) to end M80's underdog run and set up a clash against Vitality in the semi-final.

M80 picked Ancient in the series and got off to a hot start thanks to Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich's impact on the rifle, but the majority North American team still finished the first half 4-8 down after MOUZ's mid-round aggressive pushes caught them off guard.
Mason "Lake" Sanderson then aced a must-win pistol, which allowed his team to tie up the series at 9-9, but MOUZ firepower shone through in the end. A 3vs5 conversion was the final nail in the coffin for M80, who wound up second-best despite an encouraging showing on their pick.
Mirage looked like one-way traffic after a 10-2 CT half by M80, but MOUZ rallied on the CT side to get back into the game. Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin's troops reduced the deficit to two rounds, but M80's lead proved too big to overcome, with Jadan "HexT" Postma's 1vs2 eventually getting them over the line.
MOUZ left their best performance until last. A dominant 10-2 CT half, during which Lotan "Spinx" Giladi put up 15 kills including a fantastic ace, gave them the platform to breeze to a 13-3 victory and secure a top-four spot.
MOUZ back up torzsi's Ancient claim
MOUZ had a 25% win-rate on Ancient coming into the quarter-final, but Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás told HLTV that the stat is misleading ahead of their playoff bout.
"The teams can look and see we have a 15% win-rate or whatever, but if you look at the games, they were all close versus Spirit," he said. "If teams look closer, they'll see we're a really good Ancient team."

While their T-side wasn't dominant or polished in the slightest, MOUZ did enough to secure a hard-fought victory, which now means they have won two Ancients in a row after previously beating G2 in the BLAST Open London group stage.
